How to set up Google Remote Desktop The following will be needed:

Making sure you are signed in with your District Account (Step 1, Step2)

Installing Chrome Remote Desktop Extension on your work desktop. (Steps1-Steps4)

Enabling Chrome Sync on while signed in as your District Account. (Step 4)

Signing in on the device that you will be using to access your computer.(Step 5)

STEP 1: First set this up on Your Work Desktop.

If you Know your browser is already signed into your District Account Skip to (Step 1 Part 4)

1) Make sure that you are signed into the browser with your school or organization id:

2) (Be sure you are Signed out of all other Google accounts)

3) Then Sign in Fresh with District account

4) Go to this address:

https://remotedesktop.google.com/

5) Choose Remote Access

Step 2: Signing in to Chrome and enabling Chrome Sync: (If already signed in Continue with Step 3)

If not already signed into chrome you will be prompted to do so:

1) Sign in with your District Google Account

2) Continue with Step 3

Step 3:

6) Click on Set up Remot access Download Arrow

7) Click (Add to Chrome)

8) This Pop Up appears click (add extension)

Step 4: Chrome Sync, (if not already enabled)

1) If chrome sync Is not already enabled for your district account you will be prompted to do so

now.

2) Click (Turn on sync)

3) Yes another Pop Up: Click (Link data) , followed by another popup click (Yes I’m in)

4) Click (Accept & Install)

5) Click (Yes) on the Next Pop Up

6) The Download will start and You may be prompted with the following screen

7) At this Point you may need to call the helpdesk for the installer override

8) Again another Confirmation Window (Yes)

9) Once installed:

10) You will automatically see the Name of your PC Click Next

11) Choose a Pin, We recommend no less Than 6 digits for security, longer is better!

12) You can uncheck the box for the data usage stuff.

13) Click (Start) after confirming your pin, This pin number is the secure way you will be

authenticating your connection from a remote device(Laptop, Chromebook, etc…… )

14) At this point you will be able to see the extension icon at the top right of your Chrome browser

indicating that it is installed.

Step 5: On the device you will be using to access your desktop:

1) Sign into the google chrome browser as described above, Starting with Step 1 and continue until

you reach the following Screen at this point you will be able to connect to your remote device

2) Continue to step 4 above, except with now you will see your remote desktop as an option to

sign into.

3) Simply click in the middle of this icon to sign on

4) Enter the Pin # you Created Earlier

And you are Connected!
