How to Save Up for College

Saving up for college can be a nightmare! With rising tuition costs and families with multiple kids the

whole task can just seem insurmountable. Thankfully, with a few simple tips you'll find saving up much

easier than you ever imagined. Don't get sucked into expensive loans when proper saving can take care

of all your needs.

Tip #1: Cook Meals at Home for the Kids

Eating out with a family of four can cost upwards of $50 these days. Meanwhile, cooking the same meal

at home usually only costs $15 at most. If you go out to eat 3 times a week, this means a savings of $95

per week! Multiple this by 52 weeks and 18 years and you'll have saved up nearly $90,000! Crazy when

you think about it. That alone will almost pay for your children's college, but just in case cooking isn't

your thing we've come up with two more ideas.

Tip #2: Buy Generic Brands

Did you know that there are only a handful of egg plants in the entirety of USA? One plant can label as

many as 16 different brands. Each of these brands has drastically different prices yet all come from the

same source. Don't fall for the hype of labels and buy into expensive brands. Buying generic brands

when possible will help you save more money than you ever knew possible.

Tip #3: Start Early

The most important tip is to start as early as possible. Trying to save for college when your kids are

already in highschool only puts more pressure on you and makes the task next to impossible. If you have

kids or are thinking about getting kids at any point in the future then the time to being saving is now!

Don't wait until it's too late and you have to resort to payday loans just to put your kids through school.
