11 Tips on How to pass the CE Licensure Examination?

 There’s no actually one secret formula in order to pass the board examination. Thething here is, every student who wanted to pass the board must formulate his/herown techniques/strategies. A routine that may be applicable to me may not beapplicable to you. But would still share with you my own experience in preparing

for the board examination. !ou may or may not try the tips will sight here.

Tip no. 1Focus on your goal and avoid distractions. "o not let anything/anyone ta#eaway your concentration. $ello% t’s &ust a ' months review. !ou need to give upinappropriate things that may be a hindrance in your review days. (ust for a shorttime of course. After ta#ing the boards, you can do whatever you want) *or themeantime, focus +rst on your review.

Tip no. 2ttend review sessions regularly. f you are enrolled in a review center, attend

all the sessions as much as possible. Aside from refreshing the things you’velearned from college, you will able to learn/gain new #nowledge from the center tooplus of course the techniques that the instructors will teach you. earn from theexperts)

Tip no. !Ta"e practice exams seriously.  (ust li#e in college, there are also exams inreview centers. These are not compulsory but very important though. !ou canassess yourself through these. "o not thin# that these exams have no bearing, theydo have. Aside from being able to practice what you’ve learn so far, you canexperience too the -nearly actual’ situation of the board exam. !ou will be monitoredand time pressured. !our attitude towards ta#ing these practice exams partlyreects your attitude on the actual boards. o ma#e sure to ta#e practice examsseriously.

Tip no. #Have a study routine. The study time you spent in review centers is not enough.

 !ou also need to have time to study alone. 0ractice solving problems as many asyou can. The real battle sometimes during the boards is not intelligence alone butbeing familiar to some problems. As we all #now, some questions on the boardexam were quite the same from previous boards. But suggest to do not rely solelyon 1ivil 2ngineering 3eference, gather as much as di4erent references as possible.

 The more references you have the more chances of passing the boards) $avingmany references will not easily do the tric# though5 you need to ma#e sure youanswer/solve every single problem from these references. n order to do so, youneed to have your study routine. 'hen you(re tired) rest. "o not force your mind and your body to study if you arealready tired. (ust li#e our body, our mind gets tired too. t’s not a sin to ta#e a restonce in a while. The more we force ourselves to study when we are tired, the lesswe absorb the #nowledge. o learn to balance your study and resting time.3emember, too much is bad so you must #now how to balance both.

Tip no. *+ever thin" that a certain topic might not occur on the licensure theexamination. As much as possible review all the topics/sub&ects, delete the idea of some topics may not occur on the board exam. 6owadays, the board exam is veryunpredictable especially now that some of the boards of examiners are new. "uringour time, the 7ath sub&ect is very di4erent from the previous boards. !ou almost

see no trace at all. 7a#e sure to study all the topics.

Tip no. ,Encourage one another. 3eviewing/studying for ' months can ma#e you tired,physically, mentally and emotionally. And when the board exam dates areapproaching, so many butteries are ying in your stomach. !ou can feel your heartbeats abnormally every time you wa#e up in the morning5 you have uneasy feelingevery time you pic# up your boo# and solve problems and you thin# you forgotevery formula you’ve memori8ed. That’s pretty normal guess but do not let yournervousness wins over your eagerness to pass the boards. $ave a support group.Be with friends who #now how to encourage you in a way. n my case, ’ve foundthis support group from my friends who happened to be my classmates and review9

mates. :e give encouraging words to each other once in a while. !our friends arenot your competitor. !ou have the same goal, to pass the boards and be called-2ngineer’ right% "o not be self9centered5 friends are the family you have when yourreal family is not with you. In our circle of friends, we all pass the November 2015licensure eamination so this thing I!m saying is de"nitely true.

Tip no. -Calmrelax yoursel/ /ew days 0e/ore the licensure examination. ;nce you#now that you’ve studied enough, try to relax < day or = days before the boardexam. ome said that it might be better if a wee# before, you should already stopreviewing. But as for me, am not that type of person who can relax a wee# beforethe exams. Actually, even a night before the board exam, ’m still browsing some of the formulas. :hat is important here is to #now yourself. f you’ll be calm when youstop reviewing a wee#, or a day before then do it. But if you’re li#e me, then dowhat did and try to stay calm.
