PROCEDURE

MENU

1. Either roll the lemons on the table gently or squeeze the lemons with your hand gently. DO NOT BREAK THE LEMONS OPEN. You want to get the juice flowing inside the lemons.

2. Put 1 zinc nail and 1 copper nail in each lemon. The nails need to be 2 inches apart. Don't put the nails all the way through the lemons.

3. Have your teacher cut the wires into many pieces.

4. Start with one lemon. Wrap one wire around the zinc nail and wrap the other wire around the copper nail. Then, touch the wires to the light bulb to see if it lights up.

6. Do this with three lemons , four lemons, five lemons, etc., until the light bulb lights up.

7. Keep doing this with all12 lemons.

RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONHow many lemons did it take to make the light bulb light up?

Answer: None

EXPLAIN: THE LEMONS IN COLOMBIA DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH ACID TO MAKE ENERGY. WE COULD TRY DIFFERENT WAYS TO ORGANIZE THE LEMONS AND CABLES. OR TRY DIFFERENT TYPES OF LEMONS OR ORANGES.
