Ontario Crane Operator Rules

• Up to 8 tons (7,260 kilos) requires

proof of training

• 8-15 tons requires provincial license

Proof of Training Provided by Atlas Polar

• Includes a diploma for the wall

• Wallet sized laminated operator’s card • Law requires this card be presented by

operator to Ministry of Labor when required

• 40 hour pre-requisite experience should be built at work place

• Under supervision of experienced crane operators

• Ontario Law stipulates an operator must have proof of training

• Morning and early afternoon • Theory includes technology and safety aspects

• Written test

• Assignment for calculating sling loads

• Afternoon• Practical – loading & unloading

• Crane set up

• Completion of entire lift

• Course is structured around a typical day at a work site

• Full set up and operation of crane

• Loading and unloading of material
