How to install MetaTrader 4 on Mac OS

1 | Install PlayOnMac 2 | Install Xquartz

MetaTrader 4 was originally designed to be run on a Windows OS com-puter, however Mac users can also benefit from using MetaTrader 4 by following the steps below:

Playonmac is a piece of software which allows you to easily install and use numerous applications originally designed to run on Microsoft Windows.

Please go to the official website to download the latest version of PlayOnMac.www.playonmac.com

Once PlayOnMac is installed, you will need to install XQuartz, which enables Windows System (X11) on OS X. In case you already have Xquartz installed or downloaded, you can select “I’ve downloaded the file by myself” or “Don’t install XQuartz for the moment”.

Go to download and choose the latest version.

PlayonMac will start installing. You have successfully installed PlayOnMac.

Once this has been downloaded, launch the application from the location you saved it. Drag the PlayonMac icon to the “Applications” folder.

If you do not have Xquartz installed yet, please select the option:

“Please download Xquartz for me”

Click on open.

Click on continue to accept the license agreement.





Enter your account’s password.

Once your Mac has restarted open the PlayOnMac application.

Once the installation has finished you will need to log off.

3 | Run PlayOnMac





PlayOnMac is now ready for use and the main window will appear.

Install the Windows fonts

4 | Update Wine Emulator

Wine is by default installed with PlayOnMac, however you should update to the latest version.

Click on tools – Manage Wine versions

Choose version 1.5.26 and click on the arrow in the middle to install it.





5 | Download MetaTrader 4 for free

Once completed Wine will appear on the right hand side.

6 | Install MetaTrader 4

Open the MetaTrader4 setup file from the location you saved it to and click on open.

PlayOnMac will request the name for the program which you name as you wish.





Confirm you agree with the license agreement and click next.

MT4 will start installing.

Click on next Make sure to check the option: “Launch program after successful installation” and click on next.



7 | Launch MetaTrader 4

Open PlayOnMac and double click on the MetaTrader 4 icon to open the terminal.

Click on tools – Manage Wine versions

You have successfully installed Destek Markets MetaTrader 4
