“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”
Here’s how you do it.
1. Think about your rewards and consequences
2. Kill your biggest time killers
3. Use apps to track your time
4. Exercise to improve your focus muscles
5. Listen to music to help you isolate from noise
Think about your rewards and consequences
Think about what motivates you to do what you do today. Think about what you can accomplish if you work hard everyday. Think about the speed at which you can achieve what you want in life.
Wrong and negative reinforcement can often be even more effective. Whatever comes to your mind, write them down. And stick it in front of your desk.
Notes on Allt helps you make note your manifesto.
Kill your biggest time killers
Emails, text messages and social media. These are the things which kills your productivity. You need to get away from these during work.
Schedule your day. Schedule a time for these specific tasks everyday. Say 1:00PM everyday, during lunch, you want to check Facebook or Twitter. You make the decision on the time. And when that time is gone, stop using it.
Use apps to track your time
Doing everything by ourself is not always the way to do things. Paper, yes it works. But you need some apps to remind you and help you keep track of what you are supposed to do.
Apps like Allt.in, Focus and Hours helps you track what you have been doing with your day.
Allt’s Work Check-in feature helps you track your time. Easily.
Exercise to improve your focus muscles
Exercising is very important for your career. You need to have your senses sharp to get things done and reach your goal in life.
You can practice exercises like:
• Practice mindfulness throughout the day
• Memorizing facts or quotes
