How to Host a Screening

A screening is a way to share information about the water crisis and charity: water through video. You can host a screening as its own event or as part of a fundraising campaign. You can host one in your home or at school (with your teachers permission).

What is a Screening?

The Journey is an 8-part mini series, following charity: water staff member Tyler Riewer as he explores Ethiopia and charity: water’s work with the Relief Society of Tigray (REST). You can share all 8 episodes (about 45 minutes in

total) or choose a few of your favorite episodes:

Meet Tyler. He’s a Content Strategist at charity: water and your host for The

And So It Begins

Before we get too far into our trip to Ethiopia, there are a few things you need to know. Here

are some tips to kick off the adventure.

for her family. Spend a day walking in her shoes.

Life Without Clean Water

Meet Our Partners

Episode 4

Having access to clean water saves women in Ethiopia hours each day. Find out how families in May Umeri Village are

using all of their extra time after getting a well.

Water Changes Everything

Episode 5

Sometimes building a well requires huge machines. Sometimes it involves explosives. Here’s a behind the scenes look at how

our local partners find and deliver clean water.

From Dynamite to Drilling Rigs

Episode 6

We’re not just funding new water projects; we’re also training teams of local mechanics who can respond when wells break. These Dispatch

teams keep the water flowing at charity: water projects in Tigray.

Dispatch to the Rescue

Tips and Tricks

Choose a comfortable setting where your friends and family can sit back, relax and learn!

Have you ever watched a movie without popcorn? I wouldn’t recommend it. So don’t forget about snacks!

Tell your audience what you liked most about The Journey and why you want to share it with them.

Provide facts about the water crisis and let your guests know where they can learn more.

If you’re hosting it as part of your fundraising campaign, make sure everyone knows where they can contribute.

You can also host a screening of The Spring Film. This is a 20 minute film about the history of charity: water, showing our founder, Scott Harrison, on his journey from New York City

night club promoter to leader in the non-profit sector.
