Church of S. Salvador (2) – The Church of S. Salvador is a Romanesque temple built around the 13th century. Its originality lies mainly in the “Pentacrator” tympanum of the main portal whose iconography of "Christ in Majesty" is the most complete example of Portuguese Romanesque. In the same portal, the tympanum is flanked by a set of archivolts decorated with scenes of the apostolate.
Galician Bridge (10) – Structure built with granite ashlars in order to cross the Ribeira de Linhares. It has two round arches and ramps with a gentle slope on both margins. The upstream side has a triangular break- water, a cutting edge on the central bollard and four water outlets under each one of the arches. The bridge deck is preceded by traces of a road with wheel marks.
Pillory and the Mermaid Fountain (5) – The pillory of Carrazeda de Ansiães was built in the mid-18th century, when the town hall was transferred from the walled village of Ansiães to Carrazeda de Ansiães. The structure is built of granite ashlar resting on a four-stepped paving. The column is made up of a smooth-faced octagonal shaft and the chapitel bears the coat-of-arms of D. João V. It has a false domed ceiling with painted coffers with scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin in the nave and a Tree of Jesse in the main chapel.
Windmill (3) – The Windmill of Carrazeda de Ansiães was built in the early 20th century. It worked for about a decade, grinding the wheat produced in the fields surrounding the village of Carrazeda. The structure comprises a fixed tower built of granite and a revolving wooden windshaft. It has four triangular sails, supported on a mast, that catch the wind, causing the mill to turn and grind. The traction system of the windmill operates inside by means of a winch.
Dolmen of Vilarinho da Castanheira (15) – This dolmen, also known as Pala da Moura, is part of a type that is frequently seen in megalithic funerary architecture. It is a polygonal chamber made up of eight pillars, which include the headstone. It has a cover and corridor facing east. Four megaliths, apparently still in place, can be seen from the original corridor. On the inner part of one of the pillars there are subtle traces of a primitive pictorial composition.

On the left is a 17th century coat-of-arms framed by Solomonic columns.
Cachão da Rapa (12) – Cachão da Rapa is undoubtedly one of the most important sites of Portuguese historical rock paintings. The paintings were made on the flat and vertical granite panel over 4 metres high. The surface contains a sequence of schematic motifs with a predominance of rectangular geometrical shapes in red ocre and dark blue, almost black.
Dolmen of Zedes (16) – Megalithic monument known locally as Casa da Moura. It is remarkably well preserved and still has its polygonal chamber and a corridor facing east. the village of Vilarinho da Castanheira, this
cultural structure is dedicated to gathering,
preserving and disseminating the rural
culture of the region of Douro and Trás-os-

multimedia solutions, the museum is
essentially didactic, paying tribute to the
rural culture of a people with a long history
and an ancient cultural tradition that needs
to be preserved, studied and disseminated.
