Level One- Ch. 2.1 – Day One
Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire?1. Show DVD including grammar points
2. Vocabulaire: Likes and dislikes
Photo Cards: Images of objects
* print out images and attach to file folder
First 5 – 10 minutes, hold up cards, have students repeat, then name the item in the picture. Then play “Around the World” game

Have students complete grammar points as you explain them while referring to the grammar pages in the lesson.

2. All together- Discuss answers and then have them repeat the lines.
3. In their group- Assign lines for them to read.

Day Two
1. Vocabulaire/Exprimons-nous- Photo CardsA. The first 5 – 10 minutes, use the questions and answers in
“Exprimons-nous” to question the students while holding up the photos
Example: Tu aimes manger la glace? Oui, j’aime manger la glace.
B. Then, spend 5 – 10 minutes using the speaking activities in the lesson. Have student in partners speaking to each other, then question SOME individually in class.

2. Grammar- Text Activities Have students take out Notes 2.1
Have students complete written grammar activities.
Review answer by having students write on board.
3. –ER verb game Team race game: Teams of 6. Students pass paper to
each other to conjugate verb correctly, then turn it in.
The team that is first with the most correct answers wins

fruit and have them use the “Exprimons-nous” to have a conversation.

Day Two1. Vocabulary/Exprimons-nous Plastic Vegetables/Fruits
a. Have students repeat again while holding up items. With a partner using the activities in the book, students will have a conversation.
b. Have students draw out and color a fruit salad and vegetable soup on 2 small paper plates. They should label them.
c. With a partner, have them explain how to make the 2 dishes.

b. Word Walls with Partitive Race
In groups, have students write as many fruits and vegetables they can find in a dictionary on a large piece of paper in French using the partitive. After 10 or 15 minutes have them turn in the paper. The group with the most words with the correct partitive wins.

Day Three 1. Vocabulary/Exprimons/GrammarPlastic Food Review with Bowls Using bowls and plastic food, demonstrate
the use of the pronoun “Y”.With a partner, pass out bowls and food
and converse with each other regarding placing certain foods in the bowl to make a recipe.
