how to develop your management style and create a winning team for startups
TRANSCRIPT
Bottom-up or top-down. There are only two approaches in management it’s bottom-up and top-down. What
are they?
Top-down. Nope, it’s not a car. Top-down management means that everything has to start from
the top and carries only one vision and how things should get done. This might be very popular but it is
not effective when it comes to productivity.
Bottom-up. An approach where everyone is more connected to what is ahead of them because their
opinions are heard and valued. Through this, employees are empowered to influence outcomes
rather than rant about the management’s inefficiency.
Develop a dynamic work culture. Motivate your employees, stabilize teams, inspire them to be
creative, provide opportunities and develop new leaders amongst them. That is how you develop
a dynamic culture.
Define roles and responsibilities clearly. This is not an easy task to do but it is important that you need to
know each of your employees underlying strength and associate them with their current jobs. You can never put a certain person in a position of which he or she is
not capable of handling.
Proactivity with feedback. Feedback is the key to keeping things on the right track so
never leave it unattended. It should be constant.
Acknowledge and Reward. People always loved to be recognized. Recognizing and rewarding the
efforts of your team members will get them to be even more motivated to do their jobs.
Celebrate Success. Celebrating success goes beyond acknowledgement. It is a perfect time to reflect on your accomplishments and what you’ve learned along the way.
