Discount coupons allow store owners to provide discounts on products available for purchase at their goo2o powered stores

Discount coupons are typically configured with a coupon code

Coupon codes are manually entered at the time of payment in order to receive the coupon's actual discount

Customers are price sensitive. They usually look for an option where they

can get discounted deals

Discounts are the best way to attract and encourage people to make a

purchase from your store

Discounts helps in generating repeat visits of a buyer at your store to find

out current available discounts

3How to create a discount

coupon for your store



Step 1: Log in to your Goo2o store admin panel with your login id and password

Click on ‘Discount coupons’ under ‘Promote’ tab

Step 2: Click on ‘Add a Coupon’ button to start the creation process of discount

Step 3: Start your discount creation process by giving a name to your coupon

This is only for your reference. It is not be visible at the store front

Give the name which you can relate with the discount offered

e.g. Summer discount, Diwali sale etc

You can write a name of maximum 40 characters

Step 4: Next, mention whether you’re going to offer this discount at your store

with immediate effect or later

Here you will get 2 options to choose:

Enable: If this discount coupon can be redeemed currently

Disable: If you just want to create a coupon and offer it later at your store

By default ‘Enable’ is selected



Choose from drop down menu


Step 5: Select the type of discount you

want to offer by clicking on

the radio buttons as shown

You can offer discount in rupees or in

percentage

Discount can be given on products,

purchase order or on shipping price

Step 5.1:

Select ‘Amount discounted from total

purchase’ if you want to offer a

discount on total price of the order.

This excludes shipping price

E.g. You want to offer a discount of Rs.

1000, if a buyer has made a total

purchase of more than Rs. 10000




Step 5.2:

Select ‘Amount discounted from

the SRP of a product’ if you want

to offer a discount on individual

products

E.g. You want to offer a discount

of Rs. 1000 on Nokia E5 handsets




Step 5.3:

Select ‘Percentage off on the total

purchase amount’ if you want to

offer a percentage discount on

total price of the order. It excludes

shipping price

E.g. You want to offer a discount of

10%, if a buyer has made a

purchase of more than Rs. 10000




Step 5.4:

Select ‘Percentage off on the SRP

of a product’ if you want to offer

a percentage discount on

individual products


of 10% on Nokia E5 & E7

Select ‘Amount discounted from

total shipping price’ if you want

to offer a discount on total

shipping price


of 100 on the shipping price

more than Rs. 800




Step 5.6:

Select ‘Percentage off on the

total shipping price’ if you want

to offer a percentage discount on

total shipping price


of 10% on the shipping price

more than Rs. 1000




Step 5.7:

Select ‘Free Shipping’ if you

don’t want to charge any price

on shipping

E.g. You want to offer a free

shipping when a buyer has made

a purchase of more than Rs.

10000




Step 6: Now enter the value that is to be discounted

It is dependent on the discount type that you’ve chosen

E.g. If you’ve chosen discount type ‘Amount discounted from total

purchase’ then the text box will appear like below

Now if you want to offer Rs. 100 discount then enter 100 in the box

Step 7: You can put a condition to avail this discount on orders or shipment

E.g. If a minimum purchase order will be of Rs. 10000 then only a buyer

will get a discount of Rs. 100 on total order

In such case enter minimum value that a buyer must spend to avail this

discount like as per above example 10000 will be entered

If you leave this field blank that means there is no such restriction & the

discount can be redeemed irrespective of the total purchase amount

Step 8: When you want to provide a discount on products then you can specify a

minimum quantity that a customer must purchase to apply this coupon

code

E.g. If here you’ve mentioned 2 and this coupon applies to Samsung LCD,

then a buyer will be able to redeem this discount if he will buy at least 2

Samsung LCDs

If you will leave this field blank it means there is no such restriction & the

discount can be redeemed irrespective of the quantity purchased

Step 9: Now you can specify the date till this coupon is valid

After this expire date the coupon code will no longer be used to receive a

discount

E.g. Here I’ve mentioned the expire date 1-12-2011

If you will leave this field blank it means this discount coupon will never

expire

Step 10: You can restrict the use of the coupon code as per customer, overall usage

or both by mark the checkboxes

Select ‘Limit total number of use‘, if you want to restrict the overall use of

a coupon irrespective of the individual customer

E.g. If here you’ve mentioned the value 50, it means this code can be

redeemed or used 50 times. Now it can be used by 50 different people or

single person can use it 50 times in 50 different orders



Mark the checkboxes that you want to choose

Coupon can be used 50 times total


Step 10.1:

Select ‘Limit number of uses per customer‘, if you want to restrict the

individual customer to use the coupon code

E.g. If here you've mentioned the value 1, it means a customer can use this

code one time only

Step 10.2:

If you want to opt both the options, you can do that as well

E.g. If here you’ve mentioned both, 50 for total use & 1 for per customer

then it means one customer can use it one time & at most 50 customers

can use it

If you will leave this field blank then it means this coupon code can be

used at any number of times



Coupon can be used total 50 times & a customer can use it 1 time only


Step 11:

Now select the categories or products for which this coupon code will be

applicable

Choose ‘Select the categories’ if you want to apply this coupon on the

basis of categories

You can select multiple categories as well



Selecting any category enables all its products to get eligible for this coupon

Step 11.1:

Choose ‘Select the products’ if you want to apply this coupon to individual

products

Click on the link ‘Add product’ to start selecting the products which will be

eligible for this coupon

Step 11.2: Select the products by clicking on the check box against the product name

Now discount coupon will be applicable on the selected products only

Step 11.3: Now you can see all your selected products on which this coupon can be

applied If you want to delete any of these products you can do it by clicking on

‘x’(cross) placed with the respective products If you want to add more products, click on the link ‘Add another product’

Step 12:

Now click on ‘Save & Exit’ to complete your discount coupon creation

process placed on the top of the page

Click on ‘x’ (red color button) to discard your filled info. It means you want

to exit from the process without saving it

Cancel the filled info


Step 13:

When you will click on ‘Save & Exit’ button, a coupon code is generated &

assigned to the discount coupon that you have created. A person will use

this code to redeem the applicable discount at the time of payment

You will be redirected to your existing discount coupon listing where you

can see your just created discount coupon on the top

Please review your filled info before saving

You can edit your discount coupon anytime later
