How to Create the Perfect Smokey Eye

Aim of smokey eye:

- highest intensity of colour placement at lash line

that fades,blends and lightens at brow bone.

What you'll need:

Eyelid Primer

Black kohl pencil/ black liquid or cream liner

Second eye pencil-colour to suit outfit/occasion

Blending brush

Eyeliner brush

Flat brush to apply main colour to the eyelid

Light, medium and darker shade of eyeshadow

Clear or black mascara

Let's get started!

On clean eyes apply lid primer to eye area

Line the inner upper and lower water line of your eyes with your chosen (second colour) pencil

Next use your black kohl pencil to line the outer three quarters of your upper and lower water line

Apply your medium shade of eyeshadow colour to the whole lid

Press your darkest shade of eyeshadow colour above the lash line

All of these will be blended so don't worry if it looks messy at this stage

The blending process:

Bring the darker shade of eyeshadow colour under your lower lash line- this ties your makeup together

Add your lighter colour into the inner corner of your eyes as well as to the brow bone

Using your blending brush- gently blend your darker eye shadows upwards toward your brow bone

Finishing touches

You may need to go back over the brow and inner eye area with your lighter highlighter colour for extra definition.

Apply a black eyeliner colour to your lash line with your preferred liner-pencil, cream or liquid.

Finish off with either black or clear mascara

Now you're eyes are ready for the red carpet. Make that entrance!
