Page 12: How to choose your Season Part three

Cool Summers • The Cool Summer's primary goal is to avoid wearing

warm, golden colours. Blue is a Cool Summer's best friend. Almost all shades of blue...from sky blue to Navy look great on you. Besides avoiding warm colours, make sure they are on the soft side. Nothing bright and clear or overpowering.

• The Cool Summer does not 'flow' into any warm seasons but can overlap with the Cool Winter. So it is not uncommon to be able to share some of the cool winter colours like orchid and true blue. Keep your browns cool like cocoa and grey is always a good neutral for you. Black will be too overpowering but a soft charcoal or navy will look great.

• Power Colours: Pastel Blue (full range of blues, actually), soft Pink, soft Grey, Berry, Soft Fuchsia, Navy ,Avoid: Golden browns and yellows; yellow-green, orange

Page 13: How to choose your Season Part three

If you were a Soft (muted) and Cool you are A Soft Summer!

The Soft Summer is a blend of both Summer and Autumn (or Summer "flowing" into Autumn). The effects of this blending of cool and warm is a look that can be very neutral, especially when you look at the skin. The most important thing to remember is that your want to keep your colours soft and muted, nothing clear and bright and overpowering. Because of the soft colouring, it can be easy for a Soft Summer to appear "mousy" or bland if she doesn't wear her best colours. But when she does, her colouring takes on a beautiful soft elegance. Power Colours: Medium to light Grey, Soft White, Purple, Medium Blue, Raspberry, Deep Rose, light Navy

If you were a Deep and Warm you are

A Deep Autumn!

Page 16: How to choose your Season Part three

If you were a Deep and Warm you are A Deep Autumn!

The Deep Autumn needs to wear the deepest and most vivid colours of the autumn palette. Rich dark chocolate, tomato red, Pine green are a few of the colours that enrich their intense colouring. For maximum effect, pair deep dark colours with some of the brighter colours for contrast. Steer clear of soft pastels and light earth tones which are not strong enough for your colouring and will wash you out. The Deep Autumn is a blend of both Autumn and Winter (Autumn “flowing into” Winter), and their colouring will be more neutral than a warm autumn.

Power Colours: Deep Brown, Black, Tomato Red, Emerald Green, Rust Avoid: dusty blues and lavenders, any light pale colours

If you were a Warm & Muted you are

A Warm Autumn!

Page 18: How to choose your Season Part three

If you're an Autumn, you probably have...

• A lot of depth to your colouring with golden undertones (e.g.. strawberry blonde hair, chestnut brown or rich red hair)

• Warm undertone to your skin. Bluish or pinkish tints may exist but the warmth is dominant. Peachy skin, which is a warm type of pink is considered warm.

• Deep, earth tone quality to your eye colour such as black-brown, deep to medium brown, bright brown, deep green, light to dark hazel, dark blue, mixed blue and green eyes (some gray or/and yellow in them)

• In general, your colouring is low in contrast but not as delicate as Spring and Summer. Some Autumns have a high contrast colouring but not as vivid as a Winter

• Light, muted but rich colouring which appears mousy and a mix of both cool and warm which make you look neutral. But you still have some depth to it... Or an overall deep and warm look with olive to black skin, very dark eyes and dark brown to black hair.

If you were a Soft (muted) and Warm you are A Soft Autumn!

Soft Autumns have.... Drew Barrymore is a soft autumn

• Eyes: Light brown, soft hazel, blue,

mixed blue, gray-green (mixed green)

• Hair: Golden blonde to medium brown, soft auburn, e.g.. strawberry blonde, mousy look. May have blonde or red highlights. Signs of ashiness may indicate that you're a Soft-muted Summer, not Autumn.

• Skin: Ivory, neutral beige, olive and also brown. If you're a woman of colour, the skin colour hair is less important than eyes and hair, so don't think about that too much

Page 23: How to choose your Season Part three
