BABY CARRIER?
Why a baby carrier?Baby carrier is a fun, safe and helpful equipment for both the parents and the baby. From the start, the baby is
near his/her mother and that is why the baby feels safe and protected.
After the baby gets a bit stronger, meaning that can sit and hold its head on its own, a carrier is the safest way to see and explore the world.
There are 5 types of carriers

A) Wraps - intro A wrap is made
out of one piece of fabric
Typically 4m (157in) long and 70cm (27in) wide with a lot of colors and patterns to choose from
They distribute the weight evenly through the body of an adult, with comfort during a long wearing
A) Wraps – 3 typesA1) Woven wrap: mostly handmade out of cotton, silk, wool and other materials, they are recommended for newborns and children not weighing over 15kg (33lbs)A2) Stretchy wrap: made out of stretchy materials mixed with other durable fabrics. B) Slings - intro
Sling is a carrier made out of one-piece of fabric, which is worn on one shoulder
There are two types of slings: B1) Ring slings and B2) Pouch slings
B) Slings – ring & pouchB1) Ring slings It is made out of 2m
(78in) of fabric with 2 rings on one side and the tail on the other that goes through the rings
It can be shared between the adults
It is easy to tie up A ring sling is a good option for newborns and toddlers weighing up to 10kg (22lbs).
B2) Pouch slings A pouch sling is a
tube of fabric worn on one shoulder
It must be fitted to the person who is carrying a child so the baby is in a safe and proper carrying position
They are inexpensive They are good option for newborns and children not weighing over 10kg (22lbs).
C) Mei Tai Mei Tai is a traditional
Asian carrier adapted for 21st century
It has two long shoulder straps and two short waist straps and it can be shared between adults
It is recommended for babies older than 6 months and children until they reach 15kg (33lbs)
D) Unframed Backpacks Unframed Backpacks are
the most commonly used form of baby carrier
They are adjustable in many ways (shoulder/ waist/hip straps)
They are made to fit babies older than 6 months
Most suitable for children not weighing over 20kg (45lbs)
If you want to carry a newborn, you need to check out if a carrier has a extra cushion that provides safety for newborns
E) Framed Backpacks Framed Backpacks give the
baby/child extra stability with their aluminum or aluminum alloy frame
They are made to be durable, lightweight and waterproof
They are therefore ideal for travelling, hiking and other rocky endeavors!
They usually cost a bit more – but it’s the safety of your child we’re talking about here
Most suitable for children older than 6 months and children until they reach up to 20kg (44lbs).
