Loving your job isn’t enough when you feel stressed.

Arriving at work in a foul mood every morning isn’t good for you, neither is for your co-workers. And it gets worse when you check your email: "So much to do and so little time!”.

You just wish you could walk through the office door with a big smile and to be able to say “Good Morning!” out loud.

To get there, start with making some little changes to your routine: the buzzword is: relax more.

Chill out mode doesn’t need to happen just outside work, you can relax at work.

How? Here’s the plan in 8 simple steps.

If you have a good night of sleep, your morning humor will certainly be fabulous. Also, it’s healthier for you. If you sleep about 8 hours a day, you’ll be able to think, learn and manage stress better.

SLEEP LIKE A BABY

Shake up the morning routine, and start off your days with fun music, sing at the shower and dance while you get dressed.

If you go to work by car, keep listening to music or funny morning programs on the radio. If you use public transportation, listen to music (bonus points if you dare to sing along) or read a good book.

FOLLOW A FUN MORNING ROUTINE

Nowadays there are apps where you can get reminders to practice mindfulness, or you can just use the timer on your phone. You can breathe between tasks, reunions or when you feel more stressed. You will instantly feel more relaxed.

BREATHE ALERT

Okay, it’s normal to have a lot of apps on your phone, but hearing them beeping all day long can be very stressful. So use the silence mode, and just check your apps when you want, perhaps after your breathing time.

LESS TECHNOLOGY, LESS STRESS

Everyone has to deal with difficult co-workers. Our advice is have a respectful conversation to work out your differences. It’s simple a n d c a n i m p r o v e a relationship. Don’t go to work every day feeling stressed about someone else, just work it out.

WORK FRENEMIES

If you have a leader position in your company or department, try leaving your office door open while you’re there.

This simple gesture can make your co-workers feel welcomed and more friendly.

KEEP THE DOOR OPEN

Sometimes our brain feels like a popcorn machine, with so many ideias jumping around. But your work day is limited and sometimes you won’t get to do everything you thought you would. Eventually you’ll lose great ideias, not have time for others, not complete your projects… What you need is to make priorities, and be realistic about what you can do in those 7 hours.

ORGANIZE YOUR IDEIAS

Going out every Friday evening with your co-workers will create stronger bonds. And it’s a great way to end the week in a chill out mode.
