Nail your two sides onto your base ensuring that the sides are sitting hard on the ground.

Slip the first end piece in between the sides sitting on the bottom board.

Nail the first end on, three nails evenly spaced through each of the side boards and two through the base.

Before you put the other end on, place in your handle into the end you have already fixed.

Now put your other end in and nail in place as you did for the first.

Hammer Tips• Hold your hammer as close to the end of

the handle as possible. Make a V with your thumb and forefinger so the hammer sits tightly in your hand. When hitting in a nail, start with a few light taps then continue with more force till the nail is flush with the top of the timber.

Place a nail through the pre-drilled hole through the top of your ends into the handle. Hammer into place.

Use a hand plane around the edges of the timber.

Staining Tips• Use a brush, clean rag or foam pad to apply

the stain/oil. Stir the pot well, then apply a uniform coat to the surface. Wipe off any excess with a rag. One coat is plenty.

Give the tool box a sand to remove any sharp edges.
