Have your membership number, details of your outfit and of those travelling, including dates of birth, to hand as they will be needed during the booking process. Payments Payment of deposit (restrictions apply) or the full amount may only be made by a debit or credit card. Cancellation and amendment charges will apply. Where a deposit has been paid, the balance must be paid by the required date or the booking will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited. Ferry bookings Any price quotations are valid only at the time given, and may change if the booking is not made at that time. All ferry reservation requests are entirely dependent on availability. All operators reserve the right to apply any appropriate surcharge to a booking where members arrive for a different service to the one shown on their booking confirmation. Such charges, in addition to an amendment fee, will also be payable if members contact us to amend the reservation for them. DFDS DFDS (Dover to Dunkirk/Calais routes only) may only be booked via the Club website unless combined with a site or camping cheques. Ferry bookings for tours If you are planning to take one of our Tours and Excursions shown in this brochure you may use any ferry route/ time/date according to your preference (unless otherwise stated) and a separate price quotation will be given. Special offers: ferries and sites Several operators have special offers for members, which may have restricted capacity. The same sailings may be available at full price once the offer capacity has been reached. All offer fares may be amended or withdrawn without prior notice and The Club will use the operator's tariff correct at the time of booking. Step 2 After you've booked Tickets and confirmations Your ticket is your travel confirmation, which is sent by email or post (postal confirmations are not available for bookings made online). On your travel confirmation is your ferry reference number which you will need to quote upon arrival at the port. You will need this for both directions of travel so do not lose or surrender it. Your site booking will also be shown on this same confirmation. Some sites may ask you to produce it at check-in so it is advisable to take it with you. Cancellations and amendments Remember that cancellation and/or amendment charges may apply to each part of your booking (including Red Pennant Insurance). These are shown in our Essential information on pages 184 – 185 and in our Booking Conditions from page 186. All reservations will be treated as firm bookings and cancellation charges and our booking conditions will apply at that time. As soon as a booking confirmation is received, you must check the details carefully and call us within 7 days if there are any errors so that we may rectify them. We cannot accept responsibility for errors or omissions after this time. Step 3 Planning your trip Book early Booking early is the best way to secure great ferry fares, a pitch on popular sites or your spot on one of our European tours. Your journey and destination The type of holiday you like will often dictate your route – some people like a long drive to experience the local scenery and other prefer to get as close as possible to your destination by ferry. To plan your journey and select your holiday destination visit www.caravanclub.co.uk/ overseas where you'll find exact locations of and directions to all of the overseas sites in The Caravan Club network. Choose your crossing Ferry crossings are usually more expensive at weekends and during school holidays. Afternoon crossings from the UK and morning sailings from the continent are often cheaper. Overnight crossings are always popular, especially for longer journeys, but they can be more expensive.
