STUDENT GRANTS: Although each application is reviewed on a case by case basis and consideration given to any special family circumstances, grants are mainly determined on the basis of family financial resources and the number of children attending schools that charge tuition. The following table of typical grants given for the 2011-2012 school year may be helpful information for families who wish to avail themselves of this assistance program and apply for a grant.

Tuition assistanceA ST. XAvIER HIGH SCHOOl education is a priceless investment in a young man’s future. Our goal is to enable every deserving student—regardless of financial circumstance—the opportunity to attend St. Xavier High School.

• Private School Aid Service (PSAS) is used as an objective evaluator and interpreter of financial need based on criteria applied to data submitted by the financial aid applicants.

SCHOlARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: St. Xavier High School also has scholarship opportunities available.

• Top Score: The top 10 scorers on the High School Placement Test for the incoming freshman class receive a $5,000 scholarship for one year.

• Miguel Pro Scholarship Contest: This full one-year scholarship is awarded to one incoming freshman who takes the HSPT, demonstrates financial need, is of Hispanic descent and writes an essay explaining why he desires to attend St. Xavier High School.

• CISE (Catholic Inner City Schools Education Fund): Scholarships through CISE open doors for students from Catholic inner city schools to attend Catholic schools where Gospel values are taught and students receive an excellent education in an environment of respect, safety and discipline.
