How to Advertise on Facebook and Where to Start

In this training, we’ll go over paid advertising and where you should start.

In this training, you’ll learn:

– Where to start with paid advertisement

– How to set up a Facebook brand page

– What are different page types

– What is the best Facebook page type

– How to engage more people on your page

– How to give value to your visitors

– Best way to promote products on your page

– Idea behind building a page and community

The first thing you should to decide is which platform you want to promote on.

I recommend doing a few organic posts first, to see if there is any potential for sales by posting

organically. From there, if you want to reach more people and push conversions, you should look

into paid advertisement. But see if you have the money to spend on it and whether you want to

do it.

In this training, we’ll assume you want to start with paid advertisement, and you want to use

Facebook. I suggest Facebook as that’s where I had the most success, and it is very friendly to

affiliate marketing. So we’ll spend most our time in this video discussing paid ads on Facebook.

If you’re not planning to do paid advertisement on Facebook, feel free to hop over to some of

our other influencer videos in the academy and check out Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram,

YouTube, Google, etc. and see how to tailor and tweak paid ads on those platforms.

So let’s get started with Facebook paid advertisement.

To promote content on Facebook, the very first thing you need to do is set up a business page.

You can’t do this from your personal page or from a group.

Here is the three-step method:

– Create a Facebook page

– Post content on that page

– Promote that content

Facebook Page Creation:

Let’s discuss how to set up a Facebook page.

Under dropdown, click “Create Page”

You’ll be sent to a page like this.

Here you can select a type of page. Let’s discuss all page types one by one.

Local Business or Place: If you select “Local Business or Place,” Facebook will require you to enter

a physical address. Sometimes Facebook even asks for things like license and registration

information. So only choose this if you have a physical business location, business license, and

registration.

Company, Organization, or Institution: This is similar to local business.

Artist, Band, or Public Figure: If your focus is around a specific individual — for example if you’re

like a spiritual guru and share quotes or inspirational designs — this may be is a good option for

you.

Entertainment: If you want to share or promote any entertainment related posts, this is a good

option for you; but stay clear of copyright protected and trademarked products. You can

obviously share and sell officially licensed products offered by SunFrog.

Cause or Community: I would suggest staying clear of this category as it has a loose agreement

between you and Facebook. If this ever blew up to the point where Facebook wanted to acquire

it, you wouldn’t have much legal support to keep this your entity. It might be just a rumor, but I

don’t recommend this option.

Brand or Product: If you’re creating a page to promote SunFrog products, you’ll preferably end

up creating a “Brand of Product” page.

– Click “Brand or Product”

– Select a category and select a brand name

– Click “Get Started” button

That’s all. Your brand page has been created.

Now, to give your new page a more professional look, you should upload a page and cover

picture.

Also add some information and a description about your brand page.

Here is how a page that has been set up looks. It is one of my pages.

So on my page, you can see text posts, photos, videos, text and image combo posts, Facebook

lives, and some products for promotion.

On your brand page, I suggest that you always post more content and not just focus on

promoting products. I recommend you build some content around your page.

So the idea is giving value to your audience and not always throwing products at them to buy.

If you keep posting and promoting product posts, you may see some conversions, but you won’t

create a community that way. If that’s not your goal, it’s all right. If you want to build a long-

standing community, where people are continuously engaging, I highly recommend you build

some content around your page.

You can see on my page that it’s a life control and lifestyle page with motivational content on

how you control your life. And the content I produce serves that. It’s motivational stories,

motivational videos, quotes, life experiences, and tied in with that is product promotions. That is

how I monetize my time and efforts in building this page and community.

So that’s the core idea behind building a page and community and selling products on Facebook.

This is the first thing to do if you’re considering paid advertisement.

Set up your page and from there gradually promote products on your page.
