Other ways that math applies to the real world
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10… Ready or not! Here I come! You may not have thought about it, but counting is math too! That means that when you’re playing hide and go seek, you’re using math! Same with when you count how many people are in the room, when you count up how old you are, when counting sheep, and when you count just about anything else! It’s all math!
It’s 4:30, that means in 40 minutes I should
get of the computer and get ready for piano
lessons since it starts at 5:30 and it takes
about 20 minutes to get there! To find how
much time you have left of something, maybe
the time left on a play date or the time left to
eat, you always take 2 numbers and subtract
them (since it’s time, you can’t always
subtract). That means this is math too!
2 cups of flour… I’m doubling this, so… 4 cups! Baking includes math too! Say you were doubling or tripling a recipe. Then you would
have to multiply the regular amount of ingredients by 2 or 3!
