1. Expect great things from God, and2. Attempt great things for God.

To india!Eventually this sermon resulted in the foundation of a new missionary society and William Carey being sent as a missionary to India eventually settling in Serampore in North East India.

The first convertThe Careys had to wait until their 7th year in India for their first convert.Krishna Pal was a carpenter and he had slipped while getting out of a swimming pool and broken his arm. He went to the missionaries because they had a doctor with them.Krishna palKrishna Pal was impressed with the kindness of the missionaries they treated his arm and told him about the Bible and the coming of Jesus. Krishna Pal began coming to see the missionaries regularly.

Krishna Pal was searching for God- the worship of many gods in the Hindu religion had not satisfied him or been a help to him.Eventually Krishna was converted and was baptised in the River Ganges.

For us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.(1 Cor 8:6)
