Let’s make our own ecosystem !!Put 2 living things + 2 non-living things in your

ecosystem

We know that animals need :

Food Water Shelter

All living things need food to get energy.but where do they get their food from ?

Where do plants get their food from ?

Plants produce their own food , using the sun’s

energy .

That’s why they’re called Producers

Where do animals get their food from?

A panda eats plants like bamboo or animals like :

fish A lion eats other animals .

All animals can NOT make their own food like plants, they get their energy by eating other animals or plants . All animals are called consumers .

Dinosaurs were extinct along time ago, so we only saw their skeletons.

BUT, where did their body go ?

Decomposers • worm and bacteria feed on the dead bodies of

animals and plants .• They are called Decomposers.

Worms Bacteria

Fungus is also a

decomposer .

Decomposers feed on dead animals and

plants.

Decomposers

Decomposers like worms and bacteria break down the bodies of dead animals and plants, and return the nutrients back to the soil.

What would happen without decomposers ?

Without them, piles of dead plants and animals would

build up and cover the earth !!
