HOW I USED THIS
TECHNOLOGY
SOCIAL MEDIA
I used social media such as Facebook and twitter in
my research and planning to get audience feedback
from various things such as questionnaires. These
are very popular social media sites in which my
demographic regularly use. These gave a broader
range of answers which helped me further improve
my product.
I used survey monkey in order to find out information
about my target audience and to be given audience
feedback about my trailer and ancillary products.
This was effective as it was a quick and easy way to
find out what appeals to my target audience and
how I can transfer this information for my products
and how to improve.
WEB SEARCH CAPABILITIES
I used search engines such as google in order to
further look into my Post-Apocalyptic Horror Genre
by searching for different trailers, posters and other
content that would be useful to me. By using these
search engines, I was able to discover various
things about conventions and my target audience in
order to make my film trailer more appealing.
The use of google provided a simple way to further
research and plan into the Post-Apocalyptic Horror
Genre. It also provided me an excellent way to help
me in finding out important information that I was
struggling to find and thus improving on the work
that I had already done.
VIDEO EDITING SOFTWARE
I have used video editing software in my research and planning as well as my film trailer. I have used IMovie for these
videos which has been very helpful providing an easy way to learn editing techniques in order for my film trailer to be
consistent and effective in portraying the styles and conventions of the Post-Apocalyptic Horror Genre. In my research
and planning, I used videos to effectively to portray my target audience and find out information about what appeals to
them. It also helped me with my animatic to give a slight insight into how the trailer will be set out which gave me more
of a view on what might work and what won’t. IMovie helped me to easily edit my footage for my film trailer in a more
coherent way and advanced features have allowed me to improve on my product.
Overall, this software has helped me to complete the post-production stage in the best way possible and has improved
my skills on this type of software as well as learning new ones too.
IMAGE EDITING SOFTWARE
Throughout the creation of my ancillary products I had used image
editing software such as Microsoft Publisher and Photoshop in order
to develop rough designs and high quality final products on both my
magazine cover and film poster.
I used Photoshop on my images to make them of a higher quality
using brightness control and editing out anything that didn’t fit with the
Post-Apocalyptic horror genre. This form of editing is very
professional so I was able to produce my product at a high level thus
being able to make it much more similar to the genre in a way I
couldn’t without it.
I used publisher to create my magazine cover and helped it look much
more professional to a real magazine product. It was quick and simple
to use thus creating the product in the way that I wanted easier. It is
also more effective than other alternatives.
VIDEO EQUIPMENT
When it came to the production of my film trailer, I used the Panasonic HDC
SD900 to film the scenes needed. It enabled me to record the footage in a
very high quality making it visually pleasing to my target audience and most
importantly professional. The video camera gave the footage a clear and crisp
look that works well within my product.
The camera was used for the photos in my film poster and magazine cover.
The camera was a Panasonic Lumix which produced high quality photographs
for my products.
SUMMARY

the presentation of my work and the way that I have delivered the
information and my production. I t has also helped me develop and
learn new skil ls in order to make my work look professional and
easy to understand what I have learnt.
