SettingThe setting of the video and the setting of the photography in the digipack and advertisement are the same. This means that there is a clear link between them and shows the audience that they all belong to the same song. The setting which was used is a woodland theme that often features the sky and sun to represent the warmth in the song. This is makes our main product and ancillary texts work together very effectively as there is no obvious difference between them so each still image can build into the story line of the video as some point. The way in which in every shot the protagonist is dark suggests that he is suffering emotionally which contrasts with his surrounding environment which is bright. This creates interest in the video and song from just the artwork of the digipack and advert.

Themes and FontsThere are a lot of colour themes that carry though all of the products and ancillary texts. The use of yellows and oranges are used to show the warmth that links in with the lyrics of the song and is used in both the footage of the video, the bottom left and right panels of the digipack and the sun in the advert. By featuring these elements in all of the products you can see a clear connection between them. The is also a heavy presence of green. This contrasts the life of the protagonists live with the death and destruction of the introduction clips. The use of the font ‘Lemon Milk’ is also used throughout all of the texts. This is important as it is an imitation of the font which Bastille use and by using the same font over all of the products it provides a very obvious way to recognise who its by. Fonts are an incredibly important marketing tool as without even reading the text the audience can easily recognise the shape of the lettering between the title text in the video, the text on the cover of the digipack and the title on the advert.

ModelWe used the same actor and model in the main product and the ancillary texts which allowed us to create a link between the protagonist and the song within the video and also externally in the ancillary texts. The protagonist is supposed to be taking the place of Dan Smith (Bastilles lead vocalist and front man) as Dan is normally the only member of the band who will star in the music videos of their songs. This is a very effective way of tell the narrative as because they make links between each video it allows the audience to invest into the individual and creates a stronger emotional connection. Dan also carries the same style throughout every video with a jacket, jeans and the bug hair. On member of our group had quite good likeness to Dan so he took the role as the actor and model as it allowed us to create a more authentic video and represented Bastille much more closely as we could accurately use their styling in our video.

WWCOMSWWCOMS (Wild Worlds Communications) is a fictional organisation which controls the news and media in the narrative that runs throughout their videos but especially the songs from the Wild Worlds album. This is heavily featured in the video for Fake It which focuses on how WWCOMMS fakes and manipulated the media to portray a fake narrative to the audience. We wanted to include this into our video and ancillary texts and Warmth is a single taken from the Wild Worlds album so it has quite heavy links to WWCOMMS. We featured this in the digipack though the use of the logo and also in the introduction to the video where we featured the news banner reel taken from the Fake It video. This linked our video into the overall narrative which Bastille have created which added to the authenticity of our video.
