I believe the images in my magazine are iconic
images as the artist creates eye-contact with the
audience; the direct eye contact attracts the
reader. The way the model is dressed on my front cover
is a representation of how a typical rock star
would dress, in this case Bryan Adams. In this
case wearing a leather jacket as shown below.
My photographs represent a bass guitar theme. I
tried to make this theme clear through the images
by incorporating a bass guitar into all the images.
Also from my audience research all the answers I
received from my focus group supported the
inclusion of images related to a bass guitar. I
developed the image by adding a bass guitar
representing the bass guitar theme.

The textural content used in my magazine,
especially throughout my double page spread
represents a clear understanding of guitar terms
such as “frets” and musical terms such as “major,
minor, chromatic” etc, thus why my music
magazine is for guitar players.
I used bold, neat fonts so that the text would be
easy for the reader to read, especially on the front
cover so that the cover lines are eye catching and
lure the target audience.
I decided to use contrasting colours throughout my
magazine so that the main information stands out
and is clear to see and read. Also from my research,
my demographic preferred to have a consistent
colour scheme throughout the magazine, and so I
included this into the magazine.

The layout on my magazine is spaced out and not
cluttered because due to a wide age range target
group, an older audience could find a large block
of text difficult to read therefore considering that,
a spaced out layout is “easier to process
information”.
