EU: Traits are used to put animals together in the same group or to separate
them into different groups.
EQ: What did scientists use to classify organisms before?
HOW DOES THE PRESENCE/ABSENCE OF TRAITS AFFECT THE CLASSIFICATION OF
ORGANISMS?
Objectives:
1. Identify the characteristics used to classify organisms.
2. Identify organisms using dichotomous keys.
Materials:
1. Dichotomous Key
2. Picture of Norns
Procedures:
1. Use the dichotomous key to identify the norns.
2. Write their complete scientific name in the blank. The scientific name is
the true name of any organism. It is made up of the genus name and the
species name. The 1st letter of the genus name must be written in capital
