Applications open in August and

close in November each year, and

must be submitted online at

www.chevening.org

Before submitting your application

you should:

• Identify three different eligible

UK university courses and apply

to each of them

• Obtain two references that

you can submit in support

of your application. You will

need to provide contact

details for your referees as

we may wish to contact them.

Chevening Scholarships are the

UK government’s global scholarship

programme, funded by the Foreign

and Commonwealth Office (FCO)

and partner organisations.

Available in over 160 countries and

territories, the scholarships are awarded

to outstanding emerging leaders to

pursue one-year Master’s degrees in

any subject and at any UK university.

In order to submit an eligible application

for a Chevening Scholarship, you must:

• Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible

country, and intend to return there

for a minimum of two years after

completing your award

• Hold an undergraduate degree

• Have at least two years’ work

experience before applying

• Not have previously received

funding from the UK government

to study in the UK

Before being awarded a scholarship,

selected candidates must also:

• Meet the Chevening English

language requirement

• Hold an unconditional offer

from a UK university
