How can I make my mother smile??....A question which brings a thought

flow, but words dont flow so easily to pen them down onto a paper.

Mother is a word which brings pleasure, a sense of relief on ones face.

Be it in any language, the mere word; mummy in English, amma in kannada,

maa in hindi is something which defines a childs world.

She bears us for nine long months, tolerates all that pain and finally

when we open our eyes in this world, she forgets everything. She

forgets that fatal situation she has undergone a moment before looking

at the part of her soul.

It is rightly said that God cannot be everywhere so he created mothers.

She is the visible God. She does anything for us, sacrifices all her

desires to fulfill ours.

When a mother smiles an entire Nation smiles with her. Such a simple

thought of Dr. Kalam, yet so great. But when you think of it, rings so

true. Mother is the root of the Nation, since she is the root of a family.

As a Sanskrit saying goes yatra naryastu poojyante, ramante tatra

devataha,

[ meaning: where the women are treated well, lords will be pleased to

exist there]

This can be taken to suit the present situation in the sense that where

mother or mother figure is happy, the entire Nation will be happy.

Coming to the question, how can I make my mother happy?, well, in a

confined manner to answer it, my mother is a person with no high

expectations or great desires. She would be happy and contented with

just simple things. So making her smile, can be done by small ventures.

She would smile if I extend a helping hand in her household chores,

relieve her from the work and make her relax for a while.

She smiles at the silly jokes I crack at times. In all, my mother will be

happy if the family is happy.

But in a broader way, we may think of how to make our mothers smile.

Smile!, as to her child has done something which is not just for her

happiness, but for the whole country. That is a situation when every

mother smiles proudly. Any mother would be proud looking at her child

do something great, something useful for the mankind, something for

others and that is something which makes her smile within.

It is earnest duty of all children to think of their mother, motherland

and contribute their bit towards the welfare of country. Finally it is

hard to say who is making whom smile, because in the smile of the child

lies a mothers smile!!!

Meaningful are the words of Abraham Lincoln which say,

All that I am, or, ever hope to be,

I owe to my angel Mother.
