Creativity is the ability to create ideas and artefacts that are new, surprising, and valuable

The future is creative

Creativity is important, maybe it is the most important skill we have going forward as more and more is replaced by computers surely creativity is the last bastion of human excellence and value.

A number of respondents argued that many jobs require uniquely human characteristics such as empathy, creativity, judgment, or critical thinkingand that jobs of this nature will never succumb to widespread automation.

Kids shouldnt be pigeonholed into a job and people need to be creative thinkers

It is about divergent thinking and not convergent thinking

Creativity is the freest form of self-expression. There is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling for children than to be able to express themselves openly and without judgment. The ability to be creative, to create something from personal feelings and experiences, can reflect and nurture children's emotional health. The experiences children have during their first years of life can significantly enhance the development of their creativity. Importance of the Creative ProcessAll children need to be truly creative is the freedom to commit themselves completely to the effort and make whatever activity they are doing their own. What's important in any creative act is the process of self-expression. Creative experiences can help children express and cope with their feelings. A child's creative activity can help teachers to learn more about what the child may be thinking or feeling. Creativity also fosters mental growth in children by providing opportunities for trying out new ideas, and new ways of thinking and problem-solving. Creative activities help acknowledge and celebrate children's uniqueness and diversity as well as offer excellent opportunities to personalize our teaching and focus on each child.

Digital devices are a really important part of a child's over all creative tool box particularly for children who struggle with traditional elements of creative expression

Digital devices help guide creatively unconfident children through the creative process, giving them access to tools and creative outputs they dont normally have access to

The guided process means they create artefacts that they are proud of, leading them to be more intrinsically motivated to do more

For creative children the lack of boundaries and opportunity for unrestricted creative expression leads to more divergent thinking that they might not experience in more traditional settings

However they dont help with traditional draftmanship and physical manipulation of the real world, so as with all things should not be used in isolation

Thank You
