Housing Application Instructions

Fall 2019 - Spring 2020 April 1 Housing Application Opens

July 1 Deadline to Create Your Roommate Group

(If you don’t create a Roommate Group, you will be matched with a roommate or

roommates based on your profile preferences and then assigned to a room.)

July 12 Housing Placement Email: If you have already registered for your Hamline classes by July 12th, you will receive your housing placement and move-in information email via your Hamline email address. If you have not registered for classes by July 12th, your housing placement information will be sent to the email address that you used when you completed your eRezLife application.

This email will include:

· Your housing assignment

· Move-in date and time

· Room set up information

· A link to purchase student renter’s insurance

After you have submitted your enrollment deposit, you

will receive two emails from its-service@hamline.edu

with the subject lines:

Hamline Username and Hamline Initial Password.

You will be prompted to change your password and

respond to security questions. After this, you will be able

to log in to your eRezLife account at hamline.erezlife.com

to complete your housing application.

Make sure you keep your username and new password in

a secure location that is easily accessible.

(Your username and password will also be used to log in

to most campus resources such as: on-campus computers,

email, WiFi and online learning tools.)

Tip: Hamline student email addresses are

created after a student has registered for

classes during the summer orientation sessions.

When you first visit

hamline.erezlife.com, you will see

this interface. Follow instructions

and log in with your Hamline

Username and newly created

password.

Tip: Some of the dates and deadlines that

appear on these screenshot pages are

generic dates provided by eRezLife or dates

from previous years. This brochure is for the

upcoming 2019—2020 academic year.

Tip: The information below shows you how to stop and “save

progress” while in the middle of completing your application.

At the bottom of every page, you will see two options that say

“save progress” and “Continue to: Confirm application.”

If you have to stop, below is an example of what your dashboard

will look like when you return.

Tip: When completing

your profile, you will

need to have emergency

contact names,

address, city, state, zip,

home number, cell

number, insurance

company, policy

numbers, doctor

information, allergies

and current medications

and any healthcare

concerns.

Housing applicants can apply for housing through their eRezlife accounts. If you are

unable to login, please contact the Hamline Undergraduate Admission Office at

(651) 523-2207. Please find below a step-by-by guide to walk you through the

process of applying for housing.

If you haven’t completed your housing profile, you will be prompted to complete this

section before proceeding to the housing application form.

5. Finished with your Housing Profile? It’s time to select your Residence Hall building preferences.

6. When you click on an option in the “Available residences” section on the left, that option will auto-populate in the “Your preferred residences” section on the right. You can drag and drop items in the “Your preferred residences” section to

change the order of preference.

Actual questions on this page will

be similar to questions like these:

1. Please rank your preferred

room type.

2. Do you prefer to live in a

single-gender community?

3. Please indicate your level of

cleanliness.

4. What time do you go to bed?

Complete all questions on the application form. Mandatory questions on the application are

marked with a red asterisk mark (*).

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Priority for building preference is based on your Hamline Enrollment Deposit date as long as your Housing Application is submitted by the July 1, 2019 deadline. We do not require an additional residence deposit.

Final Tips:

1. Bulletins and Resources: The Resources section will show you

building floor plans.

2. Make sure to complete the “My roommate profile” section before

you start to search for a roommate.

3. The Roommate Groups option becomes available to you after you

have completed your housing application.

(All Roommate Groups must be created by July 1st)

Tip: A student can ONLY withdraw their

housing application without financial

penalty before the Wednesday,

May 1st deadline.

When you submit your housing

application, you are agreeing to the full

9-month academic year contract.

You will also notice that your housing application status is updated to “Complete” under the Housing Overview

tab. You may click the “withdraw application” link if you change your mind.
