Myerscough College is a thriving, specialist land based and sports college providing further and higher education courses with significant employer engagement and commercial activity.
The main campus is in Bilsborrow, near Preston, with significant other centres in Liverpool and Blackburn and specialist provision in Manchester.

Aims & Purpose:
To provide inspirational leadership, development and direction across college
To deliver the strategic plan targets as set by the Corporation
To be responsible for strategic financial planning, financial management & budget setting and control
To provide positive leadership to the Finance, data management, examinations, corporate services, catering, residential and commercial services teams.
To deputise for the Chief Executive & Principal
Senior Postholder:
To act as a Senior Postholder for the College undertaking duties as delegated by the Principal and Chief Executive or Corporation, to include
To act as lead executive team member for the College’s Audit & Governance committee.
To act as joint lead executive team member, with Deputy Principal Resources, for the College’s Finance & Resources Committee
To attend Corporation meetings and Governor training sessions as appropriate
To act as dismissal officer
To act as hearing officer for grievances and performance investigations as required
To act as hearing officer for student disciplinary investigations associated with residential provision
To act as appeals officer in absence of Principal & Chief Executive where the postholder has not previously been part of the investigation

Act as Risk Champion
Lead and motivate staff so that all areas of responsibility contribute positively to student and staff experience and the achievement of the strategic plan
Ensure provision of effective administrative support across the college campuses

Strategy & Policy:
Support and develop the strategic and operational plans for Myerscough

Ensure the development of entrepreneurial activities within the College to grow studentnumbers, increase and diversify sources of income.
Finance:
Take overall responsibility for college financial planning, production of all financialdocuments and management of forecast and actual budgets to meet the requirements of College’s short, medium and long term strategic, financial and business plans
Ensure cashflow, treasury management and lending arrangements (including bankcovenants) are well managed and controlled, including the management of the relationship with College’s bankers, external and internal auditors
Lead on the College’s financial governance and risk management obligations throughdevelopment of robust systems to meet requirements of external bodies as required
Responsible for College’s strategic financial planning, procurement, accounting andFinancial stability, ensuring a robust framework of financial management and contract compliance
Lead on management of strategic and operational risks across the College through thedesign and development of processes, systems and working practices that enable the identification of risks and effective risk management
Lead on production of College’s annual statutory accounts, ensuring that they comply with accounting and all reporting standards.

Commercial Activity:
Develop a commercial strategy to maximise the utilisation of college assets for the financial benefit of the college

Corporate Service Management:
To provide an efficient, effective and economic administrative support team across the college
