Short haul exception
May accumulate 11 hours of driving time with 16 consecutive hours on duty once every 7 days provided
– You return to and are released from your work reporting location that day and previous 5 days
– You are released from duty within 16 hours after coming on duty
– Have not used this exception within previous 6 consecutive days

Sleeper berth
May be taken in two separate periods One 8 consecutive hour period must be
spent in the sleeper berth Another separate period of 2 consecutive
hours must be spent in the sleeper berth, off duty, or any combination of the two
The two periods must total at least 10 hours

Calculation of the 14-hour limit includes all time except any sleeper-berth period of 8 consecutive hours or more. Compliance must be re-calculated from the end of the first of the two periods

60/70-hour limit
A driver cannot drive after having been on duty for 60 hours in any 7 consecutive days or 70 hours in any 8 consecutive days
A driver may do non-driving work after reaching the limit but the hours must be added to the total
