Also, I hope you all enjoyed the Memori- al Day parade. On May 23rd, the Officers of the Lodge had the pleas- ure of initiating 10 new members into our Lodge. I’d like to thank each of these new members for their offers of getting involved. I would like to thank eve- ryone who came out for Cinco de Mayo, and Ken- tucky Derby on May 5th. Additionally, Doug Kehl stepped up again for the Lodge on May 19th to run another German Night. Alt- hough the crowds weren’t what we hoped for, each of the events were successful. We once again participat- ed in the annual Memorial Day parade down Main St., and thank you to all those who “stepped” up (pun in- tended!!) to march, or ride with us. We also once again hosted the Vets, their fami- lies and friends back at the Lodge for burgers and dogs after the parade. Last but not least, thank you to Killiam & Bassette Farm, and Mon- aco Ford for providing trans- portation for those who couldn’t march. On June 9th, the Rotary will be having their annual Lobster Fest at the pavilion. Please provide them the cu- riosity of any other renter of our property. For this event, the range will be shut down for the entire day. On June 2nd and 3rd, the NSSA will be having one of their events at the range. If you would like to witness the activities you are more than welcomed. If you’re interested in joining, feel free to speak to any one of their members participating. On June 16th the Lodge will be conducting the Flag Day ceremonies at the Lodge. A s the unofficial weekend of Summer is behind us, I’d like

Sunday Trap Shooting

If you have your own shotgun, bring it! If you don't

have your own one will be available for you to bor-

row. Eye and ear protection are recommended, and

can be purchased on site.

Open to all levels $4 per round (25 shots), starts at noon!

The range is closed on Sunday’s during Trap Shooting.

Lodge. The Annual ceremony will be held in

the hall. Once again the Boy Scouts will be

acting as our color guard.

You don’t need to be an N-SSA member to come up to the

range and cheer on your fellow Elks in competition. Bring a

lawn chair and some ear protection….Hope to See You There!

Initiation July 18, 2018 The Exalted Ruler is calling for a special

meeting for the purpose of holding initiation

on the evening of July 18th at 7PM.

Letters have not been sent out to any candi-

dates as of yet as investigation will not be held until June

26th, with balloting on during the regularly scheduled meet-

ing of June 27th.

Any member considering proposing a candidate will need to

have the application to the Secretary no later than June 13th

so it can be read on the floor of the Lodge.

3rd Annual Car Show

June 24th This event benefits the VFW Care

Packages for our troops, and will

be held at the Glastonbury Elks

Pavilion from 9AM until 3PM.

Stick Bust Attention pistol shooters! The annual stick

bust competition has returned. Each Tues-

day, at approximately 5:30PM.

As in the past we invite you to bring

any hand gun of any caliber and try

your hand at "Picking Off" the sticks. Just learning to shoot,

no problem we have plenty of experienced and responsible

coaches to help you along.

Come out and spend some fun time with like minded shoot-

ing enthusiasts. Hope To See You There!

ing Derby, but we also have the Steak and Lobster coming

up on July 21st, and the Food Truck Festival on August 4th

and 5th which will require a lot of volunteers.

The house committee will be holding a stuffed pepper din-

ner on Friday the 22nd starting at approximately 6PM. Din-

ner will be only $10. Come on down and support the Lodge

with your family and friends!

Prices will be: $25 New York Strip, $25 Lobster, or $40 for both! Served with baked potato, corn on the cob and dessert! Bar will open at the pavilion for 4PM, Dinner served at 5PM. Music and dancing follows dinner! *There will be NO dinners sold at the door! Volunteers are needed, please see me!

Glastonbury Elks Charity Golf

Tournament

The Elk’s Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Septem-

ber 10, 2018.

As is needed each year, the committee is looking for Hole

Sponsors, and raffle items.

Additionally, the flyer is at the bar, and will be posted to the

website soon. The cost this year is $135, which includes the

cart, round of golf, and a steak dinner back at the Lodge.

Dinner only tickets are available for $25.

In conjunction with the NSSA Skirmish on the weekend of

June 2nd and 3rd, we’ll be holding a Beef Stroganoff dinner,

served with veggies, and a salad. All for only $8.00 Dinner

will start at 6PM, and held at the pavilion. All members,

their families and guest are invited.

Glastonbury Elks Food Festival

The Glastonbury Elks will be holding its “Food Festival”

during the weekend of August 4th and 5th.

There will be some 30+ food trucks, along with 30+ ven-

dors, children rides, clowns, DJ playing music all day for

both days, and a full bar at the pavilion, all with free park-

ing and admission.

Come on down and support the Lodge, and don’t forget to

tell your neighbors!

House Committee News As the summer months approach, we see more

and more events happening at the Lodge

which includes the deck. Come on down and

enjoy any and all of the events we have forth-

coming over the summer!

On Sunday June 24, Sherry once again will

be serving her famous Loaded Bloody Mary’s

for only $8. If the past few months are any

indication of what is to come for April, we

suggest you get here early. She only sells

them until she runs out of the ingredients!

Bullet Notes! The range gate combination was recently

changed, and I would like to stress the fact

you should not be passing this out to anyone

not a member. Furthermore, this will not be

given out to you over the phone, or via

email. You must show your 2018-2019

Lodge Dues card to the bartender.

As the outdoor activities increase over the summer, keep in

mind the range may close without notice. We’ll do our best

to send out notices via email, or you can always feel free to

email the Range directly at [email protected].
