10. Student feedback mechanism on Institutional Governance/faculty performance:

The Principal obtains the feed-back at least Twice a year from the students regarding the

quality of teaching done by the teachers. In case of any shortcomings observed either in the quality of teaching or attitude, the teacher is suitably advised, during annual assessment. The Principal also takes feedback from the students regarding any difficulty or inconvenience faced by them and the issues are sorted out in consultation with the Deans, HODs and Wardens.

11. Grievances redressal mechanism for faculty Staff and students:

A Grievances Committee has been constituted way back in 2001 and its existence is widely circulated. Any major grievance, which could not be solved at the HOD level, can be submitted to the Committee. The Committee goes into the details and gives its suggestions to the Principal. The Principal in consultation with the Management takes appropriate steps for the redressal of the grievance.

A Suggestion Box is installed within the easy reach of the students in the Administrative Building so that they may communicate their grievances in writing. The Principal notes the suggestions so received to initiate corrective actions.

Students of Architecture took part in Annual NASA held at Jaipur during Jan.2017.

Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan undertaken by Dept. of Architecture to clean the surroundings of Ramtek Bus station on 15th Oct. 2016, per the directives received from the Ministry of HRD and AICTE/University.

Dept. of Architecture observed World Architect Day on 3rd Oct. 2016. On this occasion students of Architecture painted a 120 feet long banner on the theme ‗Design A Better World‘.

Tree plantation program was taken up by the NSS Unit as per the directives received from Govt.of Maharashtra during July 2016.

NSS Unit conducted a 3-day camp in Lohdongari village during 27th to 29th Jan.2017 to create awareness on ‗Swachcha Bharath Mission, Environmental cleaning, rain water harvesting, solar energy, etc. Further it also arranged free medical check-up camp.

For the Noble Cause of the humanity a Blood Donation Camp was organized on 30th Jan. 2017 to commemorate the Martyrs‘ Day where in 178 students/staff donated blood.

Personal Effectiveness Program by Careerpath Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad was held during Oct.2016. 40 faculty attended this program. 17. Academic Sessions: Semester Pattern from I Yr. onwards. Exam System : Semester pattern Period of declaration of results: Generally 30-45 days after the examinations. 18. Counseling/Mentoring:

A small group of students is attached to a teacher who acts as their counselor/mentor. The counseling students are required to meet the counselor on a regular basis and interact with him/her frequently. In case of any problem the counselor provides suitable advice. The counselor acts as a friend, philosopher and guide for his counseling students.

Career Counselling:

The Institution has fully functional Training and Placement Cell. An independent Training and Placement Officer head it. The career counseling mostly done by the Training and Placement Cell The Personality Development Training Programmes are regularly conducted in association with the M/S. Career Path Solutions, Hyderabad for the benefit of the students.

Medical facilities : A part-time Medical Officer is appointed by the Institute to provide Medical facilities to the students. The Institute houses a dispensary to cater to the medical needs of the students. In case of medical emergency vehicle facility is provided to the students to take them to the nearby hospital.

Student Insurance Student Insurance facility is provided to the students, which provides insurance cover to the extent of Rs. 10,000/-.

19. Students Activity Body:

Students Representative Council (SRC) is constituted in the Institute, which consist of various class toppers, and the Final year Class Topper acts as its President. Various extra-curricular activities are planned and organized by the SRC Body for the students.

Cultural Activities:

Various Cultural Activities are planned and organized by the SRC Body throughout the year for the students.

Sports Activities:

The institute has a full-fledged Physical Education Department to provide sports and games facilities to the students. The sports and games activities are held throughout the academic year from July to February for boys and girls. Students are encouraged to participate in various sports and games at National/State/ University /Inter- collegiate

levels. Every year the students of the institute are winning various prizes in the national and state level competitions and bring laurels to the institute.

The institute has a well-equipped 12 and 4 station gymnasium and weight lifting sets and about 150 students make use of these facilities every day. The Indoor Games Complex, built with the grants received from the central government, of international standards, has facilities for basketball, badminton, table tennis, caroms, chess and a gymnasium.

Volley Ball, Tennikoit, lawn tennis and Cricket are available in the campus. Literary activities:

The institute has a Literary Club to enhance and sharpen the literary skills of the students. Students are encouraged to participate in literary competitions like debates, elocutions, singing etc, at national/state/ university /inter- collegiate levels. Every year the students of the institute are winning various prizes in the national/state/ university /inter- collegiate level competitions and bring laurels to the institute.

A Language Lab has been set up where the students are taught about the Basic English Skills, which include pronunciation skills, written skills etc.

Magazine / News Letter:

Literary Club of KITS, Ramtek brings out a news letter ‗Xpressions‘ where the students of the institute contribute articles of technical and non-technical nature, stories, poems, etc.

Technical activities/Tech.Fest:

The department has a fully functional ‗Architecture Association‘ for developing the overall

personality Leadership qualities of the future Architects. The Association regularly

organizes various Co—curricular & extracurricular activities like poster making, design

competitions, Mural making, Elongation, Seminars and guest lectures, participation in the

national and zonal level NASA events, exhibitions, workshops, paper presentations, site

visits, etc. Teknodeon 2K17 is being organized on 10th and 11th March 2017.

Study tour / site visits

Site visits are conducted every year semester wise for providing hands on experience to the students of the department.

Site visit arranged for B.Arch.III year students to Lakhewada in Ramtek town on 22nd and 23rd July 2016 as a part of their syllabus of Appropriate Technology.

Arch. III sem. students visited to Nagaon Lonavala, Lavasa, Mumbai during July 2016.

Study tour arranged for First year Architecture students to Bhubaneshwar and Puri during 13th to 20th Dec. 2016. During this tour an interactive session was arranged with alumni who are in teaching profession and who are working as practicing architects in Bhubaneshwar.

Alumni activities The institute has an independent alumni charter to interact with the passed out students

of the institute. The alumni charter organizes various alumni meets on a regular basis in the campus and outside campus.

Social responsibility and Community contribution:

Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma, Member of Special Task Committee, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur delivered a guest lecture ‗Traffic Engineering, Accidents and their preventive measures‘ on 18th July 2016.


As per the directives received from the Ministry of HRD and AICTE/ University ‗Swachcha Bharath Abhiyan‘ programs are being organized from 2nd Oct. 2014 onwards at our Institute and the same has been carried out by various departments, NSS Unit on regular basis. Similar activities were carried our during this academic year also.

NSS Unit arranged saplings plantation program as per the directives of Govt. of Maharashtra on 1st July 2016. Around 100 saplings of different types were planted in the campus.

NSS volunteers performed a skit on ‗Cyber Crime and Prevention‘ on 15th Aug. 2016. They also distributed sweets to old age people residing in Vrudhdhashram, Mansar.

Dr.Devendra Mohature, Principal, Annasaheb Gundawar College, Nagpur delivered a guest lecture on ‗Importance of NSS to the Engineering Students‘ on 23rd Aug. 2016.

NSS volunteers of KITS Ramtek actively participated in the Kalidas Mahotsav held in Nagardhan, Ramtek on 14th Nov.2016 to guide and help the invitees to the program.

NSS special camp was organized during 27th to 29th Jan. 2017 at Lohdongri village Ramtek to create awareness about ‗Rainwater Harvesting, pollution control, importance of blood donation, solar energy, Swaccha Bharath Abhiyan‘ etc. Further it also arranged a free medical check-up camp, distribution of medicines at free of cost to the needy patients, cleaning activity of village, sorting out the problems of villagers through the Sarpanch, statistical survey of the village done. In addition, best out of waste, cultural programmes, drawing competitions, and exhibition competitions were conducted in the village.

An exhibition cum sale of handmade Rakhi made by Mentally Retarted Students of local school was arranged to motivate the mentally retarted students of Ekavira Mentally Retarted School, Kachurwahi during Aug.2016, as was done in the last academic year.

Apart from professional academic activities, our students also contributed to social activities and mankind. With this vision, 9 years back ‗HELPING HANDS‘ miniature NGO of KITS, was established and now it has become a boon for the differently-abled students and old age people.

For the Noble Cause of the humanity a Blood Donation Camp was organized on 30th Jan. 2017 to commemorate the Martyrs‘ Day where in 178 students/staff donated blood.

TECHNOFEST (a model making and Poster Competition) exclusively for the students of 11th and 12th Std. was conducted at our Institute on 22nd Dec. 2016 for the benefit of students. Themes for competition were: Non – conventional Energy Sources, Rain Water Harvesting and Digital India.
