The hotel is located on the corner of 9th and V st at the edge of what is refered to as Little Ethiopia. The patterns and bright colors of this culture are appear-ing in the local decor, super-imposed on the clas-sical architecture of 19th century DC. This will be continued with the surface treatment of the hotel where the geometric pat-terns and vibrant colors of Ethipioa will make up the skin covering the classical form common to the area. The form is influenced by a mix of the local and re-gional forms common to DC; the corbeled cornices of local homes and sym-etry of federal architec-ture, and high end detials of modern hotel design as seen in the George Hotel.
