We are pleased to invite you to par�cipate in - 5th Annual Na�onal SIMULUS 5Conference of on Medical Simula�on ; which will be held in Chennai PediSTARSfrom .6�� to 11�� February 2020

PediSTARS (Pediatric Simula�on Training and Research Society of India) was founded in August 2013. Since its incep�on it has played a key role in taking forward simula�on based interven�ons in pediatric health care. PediSTARS took forward its agenda of promo�ng the use of simula�on by conduc�ng various workshops, conferences in different parts of the country in addi�on to hos�ng various key stakeholder mee�ngs.

PediSTARS conducts Annual Na�onal Conferences (SIMULUS) which sees a�endance of various Interna�onal and Na�onal simula�on experts in both medical and Non-Medical fields. PediSTARS has passionately worked in successfully conduc�ng various workshops across India such as Faculty Development Program (TOT), Simula�on Training of Emergency Pediatrics (STEP), Simula�on of Cri�cal Care Emergencies (SUCCESS) and New born emergencies (NEO SIM) over the last 6 years to promote the use of simula�on at workplace and as a training tool.

The society is formally affiliated to Society of Simula�on in Healthcare (SSH), Interna�onal Pediatric Simula�on Society (IPSS), INSPIRE Group (Interna�onal Network for Simula�on based Pediatric Research, Innova�on & Educa�on.)

PediSTARSFACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMLevel 1 Certification

This workshop will be conducted by interna�onal and na�onal experts in medical simula�on. Level 1 cer�fica�on will be provided by PediSTARS and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth deemed university, Pondicherry for candidates comple�ng this 2 day workshop. For those who want to pursue further in this field, a senior mentor would be provided to complete level 2 cer�fica�on over 6 months and level 3 cer�fica�on over 1 year. At the end of 1 year, a�er comple�on of level 3 training, candidates will be able to design curriculum based on Simula�on, conduct simula�on at their workplace to improve pa�ent outcomes and debrief mul�disciplinary teams..

What is SimWars?This compe��on challenges clinical interdisciplinary healthcare teams to compete against each other in exci�ng pa�ent simula�on scenarios of pediatric emergency.

Who can par�cipate?

One Team= 4 membersMinimum 2 Doctors (Includes Post graduate trainees)

Other 2 members= Nurses/ Paramedics/ Doctors-PG/ Post PG/ Fellows/ Post Fellowship

l All Doctors should have less than 5 years (Post MD / DNB / equivalent degree experience)

l There is no experience limit for the nurses/ paramedics

l All members need not be from the same organisa�on.

l Region specific grouping, of team members from different hospitals is encouraged.

How to conquer the Sim WARS?Each team will have to skilfully manage simula�on scenarios in paediatric emergencies. A panel of experts will choose a winning team based on aspects of teamwork, communica�on and clinical decision making.
