Team’s Hot Tap Services (HTS)
T eam’s hot tap services have been utilized worldwide for making branch connections into operating heat exchangers, vessels, columns,
tanks and pipelines. Tapping operations per formed by experienced technicians begin only af ter detailed coordination and planning have been completed with plant personnel. Designed by exper t engineers, Team’s hot tap entr y process can be per formed in a wide range of conditions. For line diameters small and large, from cryogenic to severe heat, from a vacuum to extreme pressure, Team’s proven technology is safe, reliable and cost-ef fec tive.

A line stop, or plug of f, is used to stop the f low of product once access is gained through a hot tap. The procedure enables pipelines and plant piping systems to be isolated for repairs or additions without causing an interruption in service or loss of product. Team’s line stops are used extensively by petrochemical plants, ref ineries, municipal water distric ts, hospitals, steel mills, nuclear power plants and pipeline operating companies.
Team line stops can be per formed on a broad range of pipe sizes for low, medium and high pressure systems. Technicians begin by designing a customized full encirclement saddle, which eliminates pressure-bearing f illet welds and reduces potential leakage. Once the hot tap and line stop are per formed, the valve is removed by installing a completion plug in Team’s SealTite® f lange.
Team’s line stop plug provides a better, safer seal on all t ypes of pipe. Unlike other seals that rely solely on an O-ring, the SealTite® metal-to-metal seal provides a more secure closure, and uses an O-ring as a backup for higher temperatures. If future access to the pipeline is ever necessary, a safe reentr y and reseal can be executed through the same closure f lange.
Team’s Line Stops & Hot Stops®
Team’s custom-designed full encirclement split tee f itting is applied.
Team’s SealTite® f lange is installed and the valve is removed.
A process-compatible plug is inserted to block and stop product f low.
Team technicians cut a hole into the pipeline.
Through-the-Valve Stop: Ideal for non-functioning valves on tanks and vessels
Across-the-Header Stop: When clearance limitation will not allow normal line stopping methods
Elbow Stop: When an angle tap is needed at the curve of a pipeline
Tee Stop: A special SealTite® f itting installed on the back side of the tee

Double Line StopA double line stop occurs when work is needed on a larger section of a pipeline. Two SealTite® f it tings are welded to the pipe and two line stop taps are completed. Once the line stops are set and the pres-sure is vented, repairs can take place between the two plugs. Lines stops are then equalized and removed, and Team’s SealTite® completion plugs are installed.
Double Block and BleedA double block and bleed is used when added security is needed. The primary line stop holds the pressure while the second-ary line stop ensures a 100% safe seal. Upon completing the necessary repairs downstream of the double block, techni-cians seal the pipe with Team’s SealTite® completion plugs.

HiStop® Services
Sizes 1/2” to 16” (15 mm to 406 mm)Temps to 1,100°F (593°C)Pressure to 2,600 psig (179 bar)
Team’s patented high temperature, high pres-sure (HTHP) Hi-Stops® are used primarily to solve maintenance and engineering problems where operating conditions exceed conventional line stop ranges. Team has successfully stopped a 6-inch boiler feedwater line leaking water at a rate of 1,650 gpm and f lowing at a velocity of 22 f t/sec. The line’s pressure was 2,100 psig at a temperature of 400°F.
Team utilizes patented techniques and equipment to achieve the most secure line stop possible in extreme circumstances. The advanced HiStop method incorporates a special HiStop f it ting, and a precision cutting and reaming operation that creates a tapered hole through the pipe. The opening is then f it ted with a precision-ground tapered steel plug that permits depressurizing of the systems for the necessary maintenance. A metal-to-metal seal secures the connection between the plug and the line.
Super HiStop®
Super HiStop® f it tings are available when pressures and/or temperatures exceed conventional HiStop ranges.
Team’s Patented HiStop® Services
The valve is installed and a tapered hole is cut through the pipe.
A SealTite® completion plug and backup O-ring are installed in the f lange.
A tapered steel plug provides a seal to the pipe.
A Hi-Stop f itting is welded to the pipe and pressure-tested.

T eam’s Freeze Stop services are an eco-nomical and nonintrusive method used to isolate a piping system. Liquid nitrogen
piped into a standard stainless or aluminum freeze jacket bolted to the pipe means no permanent modif ications are made to the system. A clean, quick and simple freeze stop blocks f luid while a repair is in progress downstream. This safe, reliable solution does not inf lic t any undue tension on the pipe wall, nor does it af fec t the metallurgy of the pipe.
Applications• Piping systems up to 30” (750 mm)• Pressures to the rating of the pipe• In close, conf ined areas with proper
ventilation• Three times the piping diameter away from
mechanical connections • Five times the diameter of the pipe away
for welded connections
Requirements• Pipe materials must be suitable for freezing
such as carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper and aluminum
• Line must be full of liquid and have no f low• Process liquid freeze point must be evaluated
prior to freezing

Pipeline Pigging Wye
T eam’s Pipeline Pigging Wye is an innovative solution for launching and retrieving pigs. The primary
purpose of pipeline pigging systems is to clean pipelines and to obtain vital information concerning the integrity of the pipeline. Most oil and gas pipelines have launch and receive stations perma-nently installed primarily to remove the various contaminants from the pipeline wall. Pipelines can be unpiggable for a variety of reasons including:
• Changes in diameter• Presence of unsuitable valves (reduced
orif ice plug valves)• Tight or mitered bends (less than three
diameters)• Low operating pressure• Low f low or absence of f low• Lack of launching and receiving facilities• Dented or collapsed areas• Excessive debris or scale build-up Typical launch and receive stations are a large investment in piping and facilities with lit tle payback. They require a large permanent footprint with possible land acquisition and require ongoing mainte-nance of the facilities. The Team Pipeline Pigging Wye can help eliminate the challenges associated with traditional pigging operations.

SealTite® f lange and f itting with patented metal-to-metal plug
Custom-manufactured 1,500# and 2,500# high temperature / high pressure SealTite® completion f langes are available upon request
Why Team’s SealTite® Completion Flanges are Better
SealTite® Flanges• Team’s primar y metal-to -metal seal coupled with a
secondar y backup O-ring seal provides greater strength and safety
• The SealTite® completion plug eliminates a critical leak path that can lead to potential check valve leaks
• Packing glands are located on recessed jack bolts and can be repacked under pressure
• SealTite® completion f langes can be rebuilt online allowing reutilization of all f it tings, regardless of temperatures
Other Completion Flanges• Have an O-ring seal only
• A check valve is required to equalize pressure across the completion plug, creating a hazard when the check valve leaks
• O-rings are used on the segment screws as the pressure bearing seal and are not replaceable under pressure
• Completion f langes cannot be rebuilt online, regardless of temperatures
