Seven percussion parts are played by seven performers. Each performer has a two-measure ostinato introduced in pairs; then the collection of all the parts forms the rhythmical background for the piece. The individual percussion parts are very easy and can be performed by non-percussion players from the band if necessary. Generally, however, an elementary band has enough percussion performers to cover the parts. I suggest rehearsing with the percussion performers prior to rehearsing with the entire band.
