Company HistoryLubrication Specialties, Inc. (LSI) specializes in hard-to-handle lubrication areas. LSI has

resolved problems for some of the largest companies in North America, including: Nucor

Steel, American Showa, Midwest Industries and X-Tec, among others. LSI’s

ultimate goal is to figure out what the problem or inefficiency is, and fix it

using the latest lubrication, additives, or equipment available. The company’s

flagship product, Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator, was developed for

International Truck and Engine to resolve the issue with injectors on the Ford

Powerstroke 6.0L Engine.

LSI FounderChris Gabrelcik is one of a select few in the entire world that holds both titles of Certified

Lubrication Specialist (CLS) and Oil Management Analyst (OMA). He is also a member of the

Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE), and Association of Diesel Specialists

(ADS). He attends annual STLE and ADS conferences to remain informed

on the latest scientific advances and studies available to the industry.

He successfully began Lubrication Specialties, Inc. In 1997, and since

the development of Hot Shot’s Secret The Original Stiction Eliminator

in 2004, his company has grown rapidly and continues to do so as

he strives to bring forward the highest quality products possible to his

Stiction Eliminator, was first developed for International Truck and

Engine to resolve an issue with the injectors on the Ford Powerstroke

Injector designs

To increase efficiency, diesel engine manufacturers have increased the

pressure at the tip of the injector. Older engines are in the 2000-4000

psi range, where the new diesel engines are as high as 35,000 psi. This

increase in pressure atomizes the diesel fuel and provides for a better

and more efficient burn (more power, less particulates).

Why injectors fail

Unfortunately, there are some problems that come with this injector

design improvement. Higher pressures and higher temperatures have

a burning effect on the engine’s oil. The engine oil is used as hydraulic

fluid to push the injector plunger which in turn pushes out the diesel

fuel and atomizes it. Over time, a thin layer of oxidized oil shows

up as sluggish acceleration.

As times goes on, it actually

stops the injector from working

completely. This is the point

at which the injector needs

replaced.

Oil fired (hydraulic) injectors, use the

motor oil to activate the injector. Oil bathed

injectors, the motor oil is used to lubricate

the injectors. Electronic Injectors, the

motor oil never touches the injectors.

While the motor oil in electronic injectors

never touches the injectors themselves,

Stiction Eliminator will still clean everything

the oil comes in contact with including

the stiction build up on the turbo, rings,

and oil pump. With non hydraulic injectors,

it is strongly recommended to use both

Stiction Eliminator AND Diesel Extreme for

a complete internal cleaning which will

provide the most significant results.

How to repair failing injectors

parts of the engine as well. The

additives in Stiction Eliminator will

remove the deposits in the engine

and turbo and thus allow them to

work more efficiently. The additives

will also fortify your existing oil and

help it to work more effectively.

A treatment of Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator is the best solution for a failing

injector. Stiction Eliminator has been tested since 2004 and has been found to

be effective in restoring injectors and turbos. During its testing, trucks having

performance problems were hooked up to a diagnostic computer and tested. The

computer showed anywhere from 1 to 6 injectors needing to be replaced. Stiction

Eliminator was then added to the engine oil. The trucks were run about 100 miles

and the computers were retested. 90% of the time, all the injectors tested OK. The

owners noticed more power, and a smoother running engine. The other 10% of the

trucks when tested showed improvement in injector function and performance, but

not a complete cure.

first put it in, it belched smoke and black

open up all six doors and get my truck

For the most effective results, we recommend using Stiction

Eliminator with a synthetic oil, like Blue Diamond, although

it is not necessary. After the initial clean up, use a half

dose every third oil change for preventative maintenance.

(Preventative maintenance dose: 1 qt. bottle for pick-up

trucks, 2 qt. bottle for semi-trucks). It is safe to use the

prevention dosage for maintenance purposes even if there are

no current symptoms of stiction.

How it works

The Hot Shot’s Secret Diesel

Extreme formula has just recently

been improved, tripling its strength

compared to what it was previously.

Diesel Extreme is an EXTREMELY

potent fuel side detergent/cleaner,

cetane improver, rust and corrosion

inhibitor, moisture dispersant, and

fuel stabilizer that is much stronger

than retail type products.

Diesel Extreme is a concentrated cetane improver which also contains a

highly effective fuel stability package. It will tremendously upgrade power

and performance in all diesel equipment, increase mileage and provide

maintenance economy. Storage stability of fuels will be greatly increased and

How it works

EDT is a concentrated cetane

improver which will tremendously

upgrade power and performance in

all diesel equipment, increasing fuel

and maintenance economy. Stability

of fuels will be greatly increased and

diesel engines will be kept in a much

cleaner, more maintenance-free

condition.

The cetane improver in EDT consists of special nitrates which are pro-

oxidants and which speed up the oxidative process of fuels during combustion,

giving more power and improved mileage. EDT provides significantly

increased ignition efficiency with all diesel fuels.

Corrosion is prevented by an inhibitor which produces a protective non-

deposit-forming film on metal surfaces in the fuel system and which

neutralizes corrosive acids formed during combustion. An important

component of EDT is a special emulsifier which disperses condensed moisture.

Condensed water in fuels is a major cause of rust, icing in cold weather and

the growth of microorganisms in warm weather. Operation of diesel engines

is noticeably improved when corrosion and growth of bacteria are prevented.

EDT contains an exclusive polar lubricity additive to prevent wear without

altering fuel viscosity. Fuel treated with EDT is a “PREMIUM” diesel fuel.

EDT users ALWAYS get at least a 2% fuel

mileage increase! It only costs about 2

cents per treated gallon. Two percent of a

gallon of diesel fuel is about 8 cents, which

means users save about 6 MORE cents!

Think of it this way - you’re getting paid 6

cents per gallon to keep your system clean,

dry and lubricated.

Power and fuel economy are increased as fuel burns more evenly and

cleanly. Misfiring is controlled. When ignition improves, emissions are

How it works

Hot Shot’s Secret Friction Reducer

is a unique lubricity agent, featuring

a negatively charged synthetic ester

that tenaciously attaches itself to all

metal parts that it comes in contact

with inside a machine.

primarily that the engine runs so smooth and

The metal in a machine is nearly always positively charged while Friction

Reducer is negatively charged. Attachment of a thin layer of Friction Reducer

to all metals is natural and not dependent upon temperature, pressure or

anything else; except that there must be oil circulation to establish a layer of

Friction Reducer on the metal.

Friction Reducer has absolutely no effect on the metal itself. It is not an

extreme pressure agent, so it will NOT corrode the surface of metal as do

other chlorinated or sulfurized oil additives. It is not a polymer additive so

it will not artificially thicken oil. Friction Reducer is a pure ester, which has

much greater lubricity than oil. It is so effective in reducing friction because

it creates a carpet of ester on all of the metal surfaces, preventing metal to

metal contact. It can be said that esters slide upon themselves much more

freely than oil does. When a sufficient amount of esters are added to oil, the

How it works

Hot Shot’s Secret TBN Booster is a

diesel engine oil detergent booster

that extends oil drain intervals for

drivers desiring less downtime and

lower costs.

TBN stands for Total Base Number. It is a measure of how much active

detergent and dispersive additive is left in your engine’s oil. A TBN rating of

6-9 is typical. As miles are added, the TBN number decreases as the detergent

and dispersive additives are used up. When TBN is less than 5, your oil has

lost its effective capacity to neutralize acid and breakdown dirt. Hot Shot’s

Secret TBN Booster was formulated to extend the oil drain intervals of

vehicles needing extended service when used in conjunction with our Blue

The requirement for higher performance transmission lubricants has

increased considerably in recent years due to the introduction of new

and sophisticated transmission systems. The transmission fluid serves

as a hydraulic fluid, heat transfer fluid, and lubricating fluid. Over time,

varnish and sticky residue can form, inhibiting the performance of the fluid.

Transmission Stiction Eliminator with a high-performance ester formula is

a unique lubricity and cleaning agent that tenaciously attaches itself to all

metal parts that it comes in contact with inside the transmission. The metal

in a transmission is nearly always positively charged while Transmission

Stiction Eliminator is negatively charged. Thus the strong polarity pulls

DIESEL WINTER ANTI-GEL

How it works

Hot Shot’s Secret Diesel Winter Anti-Gel provides

“Premium Diesel” qualities to standard diesel

fuels in terms of detergency, stability, lubricity,

winter operability, and cetane number. Its

effective anti-gel additive greatly improves cold

temperature performance. Additional properties

provide further winter protection against freeze-

ups. In addition, Diesel Winter Anti-Gel contains a

powerful cetane improver for quicker cold starts

and a maximum boost in power and performance.

Diesel Winter Anti-Gel is recommended for ALL

diesel engines.

Detergency – Diesel Winter Anti-Gel reduces injector nozzle coking, as demonstrated in the

Cummins L-10 125-Hour Injector Depositing Test, when used at the appropriate recommended

treat rate.

Cold Temperature Performance – Diesel Winter Anti-Gel lowers Pour Point, Cold Filter Plugging

Point, and Low Temperature Fluidity. It prevents diesel fuel gelling and greatly improves cold

temperature operability. Fuel can be treated with Diesel Winter Anti-Gel to pass the ASTM D-975

Winter Operability requirements. Diesel Winter Anti-Gel not only disperses water, but also lowers

its freeze point for superior winter performance.

Cetane – Diesel Winter Anti-Gel improves ignition efficiency, improves cold starts, reduces warm

up time, smooths engine operation, increases power and fuel economy. Diesel Winter Anti-Gel

is formulated to produce an increase of 4 cetane numbers in responsive diesel fuels at its

optimum treatment rate.

Stability – Fuel can also be treated with Diesel Winter Anti-Gel to pass the ASTM D-6468

Thermal Stability Test as well as the other commonly used storage stability tests.

Lubricity – Diesel Winter Anti-Gel improves lubricity of diesel fuels in both the BOCLE Test and

the HFRR Test, which is a critical factor with low-sulfur No. 2 and especially with kerosene-

blended fuels.

Rust and Corrosion Protection – Prevents all types of rust and corrosion in fuel lines, strainers,

pumps and injectors.
