GHHS is a no-kill animal shelter dedicated to

the humane care and treatment of animals

Thank you for all of your support and interest in the animals and activitiews at GHHS! Summer is always a busy time with the acceptance of puppies and kittens into the shelter. With summer schedules we have lots of volunteers and Paws for Reading readers in the shelter. It’s a busy place. But, you are always welcome to drop by for a tour. Did you know we have a wish list on Amazon Smile? You can order items for GHHS like cleaning supplies and pet toys. If you have an Amazon or Amazon Prime account, please look for the Amazon Smile logo and select GHHS to receive donations from your purchases. A huge thank you to Bancorp South for their efforts to collect pet food for our King’s Community Kitchen. Last year, we gave out more than 35,000 pounds of pet food to low income pet owners. Bancorp’s donation of more than 11,000 pounds was a tremendous help in keeping our pet food bank stocked. We look forward to seeing all of the precious pet photos that will be entered in the Pet Photo Contest this month. It is so exciting to partner with Rocket Republic on a specialty brew, Apollo Amber, and to have the winner and top four places printed on the beer can labels and cartons. Look for announcements about the parties that will be held around town when the beer is available for sale! Stay cool during this hot summer. Don’t forget to give your pets plenty of water, bring them inside when it is too hot or stormy, and don’t forget the heartworm treatments!

Cheers,

Jill Gardner, CEO

Hi! I am Chip. I am an Australian Cattle Dog/American Staffy mix. I love to play with other dogs and I like to be close to people. I will bark when you visit my outdoor play yard because I want you to play with me. I am a great dog for any family!
