– Introduced in June 1999 by OASIS to minimize overlap and duplication in XML languages and standard initiatives by providing public access to XML information, specifications and Schemas in a centralized repository.
– Today, XML.org is now a centralized XML portal that has become a valuable resource and clearinghouse of XML information for technologists, developers and businesspeople.
– Funded by corporate sponsors seeking exposure and visibility among technologists, businesspeople and thought leader within the XML community and marketplace.
