Trails and the High StreetHigh street experiences had been flourishing like never before, people were being (and can again) drawn into their town and city centres not just to shop but to interact, enjoy, learn and play.

Before the crisis, trails, hunts and events had taken towns and cities across the country by storm, bringing in huge numbers of visitors.

During the recent crisis we have also seen the power of ‘experience trails’ as people look for activities to do safely with their families. Rainbows and teddy bears displayed in residential windows, and now Easter eggs, have become synonymous with the lockdown.

Our VisionTo stage an accessible event of the highest quality to drive footfall and give families a fun reason to come back to the town AND RAISE MONEY FOR THE NHS.

A Trail with Family AppealMonsterHero Safari is a story trail specifically designed for families with a range of children’s ages in mind.

In its simplest form young children will be able to excitedly spot the colourful and unique characters along the trail and older children will enjoy the interactive elements of the NFC enabled window displays and story.

Families go to a central location and simply tap or scan a central poster, or any trail stop character, with a smartphone - without the need to download any apps.

Supporting those that Need Help the MostAmong the hardest hit by the crisis will be smaller independent traders and charity retailers. Our aim is to support these by ensuring that participating trail host venues are from these sectors.

Marketing Channels

Each host location team will be provided with a Marketing Pack by Toolbox Marketing which will include launch information, social media handles, content post examples, creative assets and a media release.

Pre-launch Marketing

• Dedicated Website setup

• Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts created with regular curated content posted

• SEO content created

• E-flyers sent out to national database

• Event listings created on all national and local listing sources

• Digital screens used to display posters

Launch Marketing

• MonsterHero Safari website maintained and updated with new content

How it Works for HostsWhat We Do:

• Provide all the decals, QR Codes and NFC tags

• Set up your bespoke trail, including a map

• Set up all the systems, including payment, which will identify every location on every trail individually

• Show your trail on our website

• Supply you with a list of charity shops that would be willing to take part

• Run a national marketing campaign

• Give you a Marketing Toolkit, specially developed for the trail

• Send you a weekly report on the number of people using the trail and amount raised for the NHS Charities Together.

What You Do:

• Decide where you want to put up the 10 trail decals (starting with our charities list) within your area.

• Give us the list so we can create a map

• Use the Marketing Toolkit locally

How it Works A Trail with a DifferenceWe’re creating a family trail with a difference, this is a fully-realised event, with characters that you engage with and a story that you can enjoy long afterwards. This isn’t just a trail - it’s a simple but immersive high street experience.

Step OneFamilies go to a central location and simply tap or scan the ‘Let’s Go!’ poster, or any trail stop character, with a smartphone - without the need to download any apps. A notification appears on their phone asking them to make a small payment/donation to begin the trail and support the NHS - no registration or app download is needed to proceed. Once payment is complete a map of ‘sightings’ appears for their location.

Step TwoFamilies visit the sighting locations and search for MonsterHero characters which are represented via NFC enabled interior vinyl window stickers. They tap the characters on the window from outside to ‘collect’ the unique character cards. Each MonsterHero card presents the family with the character’s origin story and powers etc. There will be 10 character cards to collect.

Working with Local & National PartnersTo create the NFC enabled window stickers we’re partnering with Thyngs, a physical-digital marketing & NFC specialist agency who have previously created NFC solutions for Children in Need and MacMillan Coffee Mornings.

We also have good connections with several high profile place management associations who will be pivotal in making sure we sign up as many towns and cities as possible.

Toolbox Marketing, an international marketing agency, has kindly offered to create and manage a national marketing campaign.
