Learning activitiesScenario:

It is Monday afternoon and you receive a call advising you that a group booking of 50 rooms, arriving tomorrow for 1 night, has been taken (Check-out on Wednesday) . How do you deal with the unexpected rise in occupancy on Wednesday?

Option 1:You leave your staff roster as it is and decide to deal with the situation come Wednesday morning

Option 2:You call your contract cleaning/labour agency to send extra agency staff to clean all additional group departure rooms Option 3:You ask all Room Attendants (FT and PPT) scheduled to be OFF on Wednesday to swop their day OFF and come to work instead

Option 1The agency can cover all rooms

Scenario:

You have decided to call your contract cleaning/labour agency to send extra agency staff to clean all additional group departure rooms

Option 2The agency can send some additional staff covering 30 rooms and you decide to cover the remaining rooms with overtime

Learner feedback"... the work-based tasks were useful"

"... it would be helpful if we had a consolidated list of tasks which required information from our Financial Controller at the beginning of the program. That way we could have had just one meeting, rather than bothering him/her several times"

"The Linen forecasting and budgeting presentations were the most useful..."

"Need to be able to go back to presentations from the activities which follow“

"All executive housekeeper and senior supervisors should take this course. It will give new direction to cost management and analyse the department views."

"Thank you for giving me the chance to be part of the pilot. It was hard but extremely enjoyable".

"You are certainly making a difference for future housekeepers".
