At Heathcotes Group, we understand that having your own space is important. Itenables you to live your lifeindependently and enjoy time to yourself, whilst ensuring you have the right support around you. We also appreciate that it’s important to develop friendships and have a reliable support network around you. At Horton View in Bradford, all of those aspects of your lifestyle are served within a new community of 13 independent supported living apartments.As a resident at Horton View, you’ll enjoy self-contained accommodation with its own lounge, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and secure intercom access.  We also provide an on-site office and support team available 24/7 whenever you require help.

Working in partnership with the landlord we are able to offer support with complex tenancy arrangements for those who may be subject to various legal frameworks including;

The development has also been designed to provide easy access for wheelchair users.

Your support

Tim will work closely with the Service Manager and a team of Support Workers at Horton View, ensuring you receive the very best care and support.

Our staff are trained in learning disabilities, autism, mental health and additional specialist training is provided to meet the needs of each tenant. All staff are trained in NAPPI (none abusive psychological and physical interventions)

Heathcotes also have an Intensive Support Team, who can offer additional training and support to both our tenants and staff teams.

We also work closely with Local multi disciplinary teams, including Forensic outreach, to ensure that our service users receive the required support; enhancing their chance of a long and successful future within our service

Heathcotes are renowned for our person-centred care and the support at Horton View is tailored to each resident. As well as benefiting from support from the whole team, you will be given a designated Support Worker for 1:1 support. We designate a team member who best fits your personal profile to ensure that you are fully comfortable with your Support Worker.

At Horton View, you will benefit from 24/7 support from our friendly and highly skilled team headed by Tim Elliott, the Registered Regional Manager for Heathcotes’ supported living services in Yorkshire and Humberside. Tim joined Heathcotes in February 2019 and has played an important part in the huge success of our supported living services, which have been developed throughout the region for service users who no longer require full-time residential care.

At Horton View, Heathcotes are redeveloping an existing building in two phases. Phase 1 features 3 ground floor, and 3 first floor apartments with associated Laundry and Office space. Phase 2 features 1 basement, 3 ground floor, and 3 first floor apartments. It will also include Laundry facilities, staff break out and Office space.

Growing a social community and helping friendships to develop is a major aspect of Heathcotes independent supported living services. With that in mind, Phase 2 will also include a spacious communal lounge where you can socialise with other residents.

Clayton also benefits from regular bus services to the city centre. Bradford is the first ever UNESCO City of Film with a rich history reflected in its striking Victorian architecture. One of Bradford’s best known attractions is the National Science and Media Museum, Cartwright Hall and Impressions Gallery, one of the UK’s most celebrated photography venues.

You’ll find plenty to enjoy at City Park, renowned for an amazing high-tech water feature with 100 fountains, laser lights, mist and water effects and much more. The space also stages a fantastic programme of events which is very popular during the summer months. Bradford is a multiple winner of Curry Capital of Britain and has over 200 Asian restaurants, including many award winners, whilst the North Parade and the West End area offers a wide range of independent bars and restaurants

Horton View is ideally located in Clayton, close to a wide range of local amenities serving your everyday needs. Within a few minutes’ walk are a pharmacy, newsagents, post office, butchers and doctors’ surgery. You can enjoy attractive green spaces at Victoria Park (less than half a mile away) and Horton Bank Country Park.

Whether you are currently in hospital, in a residential setting or living at home we want you to feel at ease as you transition to your new home.

You will have the opportunity to get to know your new staff team and will also be invited to visit your new home before you move. We can support you to personalise your apartment to your taste so you can make it your home. During the transition process we will get to know you; what you like and dislike and how you want your support package to look.

We will help you with your tenancy agreement to make it as easy as possible for you to manage your finances. When you arrive at Horton View, the support team will be on hand at all times to answer any questions and provide assistance with anything you need to help you to settle in.

I’ve worked really hard to get to where I am now and I think I deserve to be where I am. I’ve worked hard to acknowledge what went wrong in my past and the efforts I have put in to get me where I am today.

I moved to my apartment from a secure hospital- it’s such a big achievement! I’ve had a lot of support from my previous placement, professionals and staff at Heathcotes throughout my transition. My transition was long to prepare me for my move and make sure everything was right, it was very tiring as I just wanted to move, but I was supported to understand why it was needed. It was so worth it.

My main focus now is to work with my staff, maintain my independence and better myself. I have my own space with support when I need it. I am very independent and can go out unescorted but I do need support and I understand that I can reach out to my staff whenever I need them.
