This will be a one-day leadership journey for student leaders and teacher advisors with all levels of experience. The agenda is designed to provide participants with motivation, inspiration and information to make their schools a better place to live and learn. This is an excellent opportunity for students who might be thinking about taking on a leadership role in their schools to have a leadership experience. Macdonald Secondary School Waterloo, ON Cost: $25.00 per participant (lunch provided by conference) Agenda 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Registration 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. Keynote speaker: Orlando Bowen 10:15 – 10:30 a.m. Break 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Keynote speaker: Josh Sable 11:30 – 12:00 a.m. Lunch (provided by conference) 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Student activity session and Advisors with Dave Conlon 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. Host Student presentation 1:30 – 2:00 p.m. Closing keynote Each school must have a teacher advisor attending to participate About the Speakers Orlando Bowen is a GameChanging presenter and the founder and Executive Director at One Voice One Team Youth Leadership Organization. For the past ten years, Orlando has used story-telling, fitness activities and cognitive exercises to teach resilience, leadership and teamwork to over 350,000 people. When it comes to building teams, creating momentum and employing winning strategies, Orlando is the real deal. Josh Sable has always had a passion for creative programming and for doing everything a little bit differently. He began his teaching career 19 years ago and for the last 16 years has been at TANENBAUM CHAT High school in Toronto, where he spends most of his waking hours (and even some of his sleeping hours) as a drama teacher and as the Director of Student Activities – supervising, inspiring and planning spirit programs, school shows, assemblies, clubs and committees, fundraisers and leadership initiatives. He will provide a wealth of ideas and activities to pump up your school spirit. The Horizons Leadership Conference is a leadership experience provided by the Canadian Student Leadership Association.
