What are the emerging technologies?

• Collaborative Environments– Virtual environments where students and teachers

can communicate, share information and work together.

– Can be simple tools like a wiki to a full 3D environment like Second Life.

• Examples:– Voicethread, Google Docs, Sharepoint, social

networking sites, and see the Horizon Report

• Mobiles– Blackberry, iPhone etc– 1.2 billion per year– By 2020 will be primary means of connectivity

• Cloud Computing– Resources from large “server farms”
