www.HOPEH.orgHOPEH (Haitian Organization Program for Education and Health), 501(c)3 organization, oversees a clinic in Juampas and surrounding villages and cities. HOPEH has been sustainable with donations from individuals and organizations over the years. The organization supports employee salaries, medication, and lab equipment. The clinic is also supplying a nutrition packed bar called “plumpy nut” that fights malnutrition among the children. Further, HOPEH has a collaborated effort with another organization in Haiti to build filtration units to provide clean and purified water to combat Cholera. Marline Olivier, who lives in Atlanta, is the president and founder. Our board is comprised of medical doctors and health and community development practitioners.  However, funding is running out and demands for medicine and medical supplies are astounding. The clinic has been without supplies and medicines for over two months at a time. Everyday is critical to the lives of the 6,000 residents of Juampas and the sick, malnourished men, women and children in the surrounding towns and villages. Great support has been poured into Port-au-Prince; unfortunately, that aid does not hit the smaller cities and areas like Juampas that are north and in the mountainside of Haiti.

The New School Development

The new school opened October 2011. We need to supply desks, chairs, school supplies and teacher’s salaries. The children were travelling for miles to be educated, many without shoes. Now they will have one central location. Sponsor a child or teacher today! www.hopeh.org

Refugee CampsiteDuring and after the earthquake, some fled to the mountains of Juampas and nearby villages seeking refuge. The Mt. Carroll Clinic and the new school are needed even more now after the earthquake. Many who migrated to Juampas have not returned to the larger cities.
