Welcome
We Prepare Our Hearts for Worship
*Invocation
*Confession of Sin Merciful God, we come before you and admit that we are not all that you have called us to be. We are so consumed with our own needs that we often fail to take notice and show concern for those around us. So, we pray that you would forgive us for being stingy with our time. Forgive us for being selfish with our resources. Remind us today, of your great provision for our lives, and change our hearts to become more generous and joyful givers, for the sake of your saving Word.
(Time of Silent Reflection)
*Assurance of Forgiveness Brothers and Sisters in Christ, the word of the Lord is trustworthy and sure: When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive our sin. In Him we can be made new, in Him we can become faithful to the call of God. So, by His command, I declare to you that your sins are forgiven in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Hallelujah! Amen.
*Song: “Nothing but the Blood”
*Prayer of the Day Absolve your people, O Lord, from their offenses, that by your bountiful grace we may be delivered from the bonds of sin, which our own frailty has brought upon us; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

The “Not Just” for Kids Sermon
*Gospel Hymn: “God Has Spoken by His Prophets” No. 238 (Alternate Tune #439)
1. God has spoken by his prophets, Spoken his unchanging Word; Each from age to age proclaiming God, the one, the righteous Lord. In the word’s despare and turmoil, One firm anchor holds us fast; God is king, His throne eternal, God the first and God the last.
2. God has spoken by Christ Jesus, Christ, the everlasting Son, Brightness of the Father’s glory, With the Father ever one; Spoken by the Word Incarnate, God of God, before time was; Light of light, to earth descending, He reveals our God to us.
3. God is speaking by his Spirit, Speaking to the hearts of all, In the ageless Word expounding God’s own message for us all. Through the rise and fall of nations One sure faith yet standing fast; God abides, his Word unchanging; God the first and God the last.
*Gospel: Luke 18:1-8
Sermon Pastor Tom Jacobson
Hymn: “Make Me An Instrument”
Offering & Announcements
*Offertory: “O Bread of Life from Heaven” No. 222
*Affirmation of Faith
We believe these "foolish" mysteries of God's kingdom: that those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for Christ's sake will save it; that those who are last who will be first, and those who are first who will be last; and that those who wish to be great, must be servant of all.
We believe that God has a plan for us: plans for prosperity and not disaster, plans conceived in the wisdom of God,
which always succeed; plans for us to be a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
God's own people, plans for us to proclaim God’s mighty deeds
for His name’s sake.
We believe, Lord God, that you are the Holy One, our Savior and our Lord! AMEN
