Dear Hoover Middle School Parent:

In 2005 we founded the Herbert Hoover Parent Foundation, a non-profit organizationdedicated to the improvement of the educational experience our children have whileattending Herbert Hoover. This private sector effort is designed to enhance the Hooverexperience with items that will not be provided through the county education system.

One of the unfortunate constraints of our PTA is their inability to fund improvements toour school outside of a specified set due to their affiliation with the state and nationalPTA organization.

In prior years, we have raised money and funded a number of projects, including the

Homework Club (after school tutoring by teachers), rewiring the Science Laboratoriesand purchasing athletic equipment, bringing the weight room to an improved condition.

The list of potential fundable projects is extensive and is unlikely to be funded fromcounty resources. They include:

The Homework Club for 2007-2008

Microscopes and Frog Dissection Kits

Auditorium Acoustic Improvement

Large Musical Instruments

Basketball Uprights and Backboards

Our choices are to hope this situation changes or take matters into our own handsthrough a direct funding. I urge you to take action on the latter.

Our goal for the 2007-2008 School year is 100% participationwith tax deductiblecontributions by parents in the Herbert Hoover Parent Foundation. This can mean acontribution at the minimum $25 supporting level or a major personal or corporatedonation to support a specific project.
